Yes definately the best thing that happened to America by a mile.

Just like Brexit was the best thing that has happened to UK in order to free itself from the EU tyranny.

...and it won't go away because it represents the tip of the iceberg that floats in the swamp Trump is swimming in.

Turkey paid 10 times more for influence; who else pays?

Oh I see. This is lobby work.

Well, unless he received money from the Turks, there really isn't a problem.

All countries have lobbyists. Some more than others, Turkey, in the past has been active in that space. And we all know about the Israelis who are probably the best.

Australia does it too. but what happens is they have an organisation in the States, or a firm they send millions of dollars to, which fund political campaigns and host US Politicians and Senators to serve their needs. I know Australia is quite advance at that game as well, and funds these types of things very well.

It isn't illegal, and none of the money goes into private pockets. But it's possible that they send "gifts"

...but Flynn is/was not a lobbyist, he was America's National Security advisor.

And the question still remains. Who is he working for, "Americans", or Americans?

Flynn is a whore, therefore, who ever pays him lots of money, he will do their dirty work. Just like Turkey would have paid him $15 million USD if he were to deliver Gülen from the USA to Turkey by kidnapping him. :o

As for Putin, the man was the head of KGB for god sake. What did anyone expect for him to become, a Democrat for the former Soviet spy agent and for a communist state to become a democratic institution just because it’s on paper? Putin‘s abuse of the Russian constitution is Russians problem, but Trump is the free world’s problem in his attempt to destroy our constitution and democratic system, hence the shit he is getting from most here.

Yes, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you too and to the rest of the CF gang. :P

See what I mean about "moving on several pages"? :D

I of course feel duty bound to correct you.

Vladimir Putin was an officer in the KGB for 16 years. He rose to the rank of Lt Colonel. Less than Sergei Skripal - who was a full Colonel - but the same as Alexander Litivenko, both of whom's assassinations he would I'm sure have rubber stamped.

Putin's specialty was propaganda (there's a funny ole fing) which he practiced primarily in E Germany. He's still doing so now, very successfully. Russia denies. As can sometimes be seen in here. Baaahhhhhhh!

I'm not sure why Putin's making himself President for life in Russia is an irrelevance whilst Trump's appalling character and ridiculous tweets is in some way a global catastrophe. Has Trump destroyed "our" constitution and democratic system? Sounds a bit like the imminent Germanic fascist takeover of the US .

It looks to me the US democratic system recently worked just fine.

Fox News Poll? :D

The Independent
Trump viewed as ‘one of the country’s worst presidents’, Fox News poll indicates
Matt Mathers
Mon, December 21, 2020, 6:32 PM GMT+1

Some 42 per cent of voters say they will remember Donald Trump as "one of the country's worst presidents".

That's according to a recent poll by Fox News, Mr Trump's once favoured network.

Pollsters spoke to a random national sample of 1,007 registered voters by phone, in interviews conducted between 6-9 December.

They asked Americans a number of questions on how they viewed the president, who is set to leave the White House in January next year.

Some 8 per cent of respondents said Mr Trump will be remembered as "below average".

Nearly a fifth (16 per cent) said he will go down in the history books as "above average".

Meanwhile, 22 per cent said the defeated incumbent is "one of the greatest" presidents the US has ever seen.

Those figures highlight how polarising a character Mr Trump has become in the past four years.

...it's the Russian denial thingy that keeps bugging me; why?

Is their a trough for eternal life these guys are hiding from us, trying to get it from some others?

...is Trump on Putin's 'side'? What side is that?

Drain the swamp, indeed. It is like asking the indomitable spirit of American Enterprise to cease; when has it been, not in control?

Lobbyists fo target and have meetings with these people all the time.

I would say Turkey and other NATO members would be at the front of the line. Israel and the other 4 eyes as well. And they had plenty to talk about such as the S400s and the release of US technology to Turkey such as the F-35.

Flynn, and such like are the target of lobbyists. Flynn’s close proximity to Trump guarantees that too.

That’s just the way it is.

It’s also not uncommon for payments to occur as long as it’s legal. Usually donations are made to GOP campaign coffers, not directly to Flynn. He wouldn’t be stupid enough to do that given his level of security clearances. The spooks would be all over him like a nasty rash especially if they deem a foreign entity be it Turkey or anyone else was able to buy or induce these people to coerce them.
