Let’s get the facts straight.
Trump loses at the ballot box.
Trump files endless lawsuits of widespread election fraud but cannot produce any evidence.
The lower courts and the appeal courts ALL reject the claims.
Trump calls for state governors and election officials to rig the election and make him the winner, but they all told him to take a hike.
Then there is a direct lawsuit to the Supreme Court to give the election to Trump, and they told him to take a flying leap, even Trump’s 3 appointees to the court.
After all of the above, Trump and his supporters can’t accept being defeated, which means there’s no hope for them at all as they will be miserable for the rest of their lives instead of moving on gracefully.
Let’s look at the facts alright.
When Trump has an issue, he goes to court to have the matters heard.
When Trump won the 2016 election, the Democrats did not file a single case even after making the most outrageous of claims that Trump colluded with Russia and due to Russian interference won the election.
Why mere they not like Trump and take these accusations to the Judicial system?
The ONLY issue Trump had was losing the election, and the courts do not flip election results because one lost fair and square. Making wild accusations of wide spread cheating without evidence is not how the courts work in a democracy, except Trump and the GOP does not believe in democracy, but entitlement to be in power so that they can be corrupted. You know, “Absolute Power Corrupts, Absolutely”. Trump and the GOP did not go to the courts to win on merits of fraud, but to outright steal the election he had just lost, because Trump thought he is Trump and will get everything he wants as he had all of his life.
When Trump won the election in 2016, Clinton accepted defeat and moved on. Sure there were accusations of Russian interfering, but nothing could be done at that time. You cannot go to court without hard evidence, not like Trump. Then as President, he earned immunity while he is in office, but fast his time is running out and he may well face those accusations in the court of law.
Since Trump could not be tried in the courts for colluding with the Russia during the election in 2016 despite Mueller’s investigations and report, the next best thing was to impeach him politically. It may have been waste of time, but it served it’s democratic purpose despite not being removed from office as expected. Of course, Trump not being removed from office did not make him innocent of the charges, just that the GOP protected him in the hopes for another 4 years until 2024. The Mueller report did not exonerated Trump, but instead he faced political roadblocks in his investigation. However, after Trump leaves office, all bets are off.
The Special Counsel investigation uncovered extensive criminal activity
The investigation produced 37 indictments; seven guilty pleas or convictions; and compelling evidence that the president obstructed justice on multiple occasions. Mueller also uncovered and referred 14 criminal matters to other components of the Department of Justice.
Trump associates repeatedly lied to investigators about their contacts with Russians, and President Trump refused to answer questions about his efforts to impede federal proceedings and influence the testimony of witnesses.
A statement signed by over 1,000 former federal prosecutors concluded that if any other American engaged in the same efforts to impede federal proceedings the way Trump did, they would likely be indicted for multiple charges of obstruction of justice.
