Looks fantastic. Will it be better than GSP?

I wish the upgraded Pafioko. It’s a friggin eye saw and they need to do something.

I remember as a kid that the Tsireion was a fantastic little stadium but lately it looked old, and run down.

Location: Kolossi, Limassol
Serve: Apollon, Aris, AEL
Capacity: 13,000+
Completion: May 2022
Architect: https://kontaridis.gr/lemesos/

It’s smaller than the GSP because there’s no running track around it.

It’s designed to be UEFA champions league approved so you’d want it to be compact (no track) so that home supporters will be strongly felt by European opponents.

There’s no running track around GSP either re patixari

Bring on relegation!

What’s going on over there DT? Very unlike Apoel to be in this position.

Is the club in financial difficulty?

When you run a budget based on European results this is what you get when those results don’t come through.

Understood. They were waiting for the influx in money which never came.

So have they spent all the cash from years gone by?

What do you mean squandered? Did the money disappear?

Or was it used to buy players and pay salaries and other club expenses over the last few years?

What time drain are we talking about here anyway?

Did they put some of the money at least to buy assets like land or property?

Does the club have debt?

It seems like Jose Mourinho is not desirable by the new European Super League, so he got fired by Tottenham along with entire coaching staff.

I don’t know all the details yet, but it sounds to me like the ESL wants to replicate the American sports structure in the USA, where the new team coming in after the initial founding 12 teams, “The Dirty Dozen”, will be franchised, which means paying big bucks to join the ESL if approved by the “Dirty Dozen” and future teams in the franchise. In time, they would have 32+ teams, then split the league into Eastern/Western divisions and then split again to 3-4 regions in each division. Same with Baseball, Basketball and Ice Hokey. All the players in the ESL will be free agents and will no longer belong to the club, so that they will negotiate their own contracts and play for the highest bidder.

Yes, the very good players will get really filthy rich which will drain away all the talent away from clubs who are not in the exclusive ESL. The rest of the clubs in Europe will become mediocre clubs when most of the talent is gone to the ESL. This will be great for the ESL and not so good for the rest. I always said that there are too many football clubs, which dilutes the talent, so perhaps by Putting most of the talent under one roof like the NFL in the US, will make the game more enjoyable to watch, just like the NFL.

Yes, money talks and bullshit walks Kiks, but it’s both good and bad news…

A lot of people are getting tired of UEFA’s handling of everything including the mediocre payouts to clubs while they reap all the rewards without even playing!

As a spectator, my personal gripe with UEFA is that they haven’t done anything to stamp out bad refereeing, with refs continuing to be allowed to enforce their own personalities on the pitch instead of everyone applying the same rules.

I’ve lost count how many times the ref’s personality and ego determined the outcome of a match

For example, in some matches it seems that fouls are permitted and in others they are not… penalties are easily awarded or none at all… and so forth… there’s a complete lack of uniformity in enforcing the game's rules and teams often find themselves checking to see who is going to ref a match before making decisions on the lineup!

That alone tells you how much power individual refs have... :?

You need to understand that the 60 minutes of NFL game lasts 3 hours by design, and yes, commercials are one factor as it brings in revenue, but it is also because it is a very strategic game, much like playing chess where every play is a designed play which they have several combinations based on which down is being played, what the score is and how much time there’s left on the clock. Most importantly, it is an entertainment sport for the fans as ALL American sports are where they have lots of time to have a tailgate parties in the parking lot before the game and be able to leave your seat and go to the head, buy food and drinks and bask in the sun whenever possible.

The home team fans and the visiting fans ALL seat as a mix and never separated or caged like the soccer fans are around the world, except in the USA. American sports with it’s designed “time-out” makes it a great entertainment for the fans at the game and for those watching it at the bars, clubs or at home as the next designed play is awaited by the fans with great anticipation. You won’t find better athletes than those who play in all of the American sports, especially in the NFL, NBA and NHL? They only play 16 games a year in the NFL (soon to be 17) , 8 home and 8 away, but they play very hard, about one game a week, plus preseason exhibition games (no points are earned) and all the knockout games to reach Super Bowl which takes almost 9 months for the start to finish season.
