If you wanted to make people think that Russia is connected to an assassination attempt, what method of attack would you use ? Shoot the target ? Throw them off a roof ? Push them in front of a bus, down some stairs ? Car bomb ? Plutonium tipped umbrella ?

Personally I have so little information I can trust I can not know with any degree of certainty if Russia did it or not. If they did though then I have much certainty that they did so with the intent for it to be known at some levels and places externally. They just would not use novichok otherwise. I do not see how anyone could be certain that it was Russia and not also be certain they wanted you to know it was them.

One thing I admired about the Russians during the USSR era was that a huge part of the population were at least Master class chess players.

This kind of thinking gained through practice reflects to everyday mental activity. In general Russians are imo the best planners in the World, and can "obfuscate and distract"- borrowing LR's wording, any superficial thinker.

Do I sense correctly a chess player in you Erol?

Afraid not.

Age of Empires and Civ games are more my thing. Never really got hooked on chess. All a bit disciplined and serious for me in my formative years I guess.

OK just to clarify I meant I sense a deep thinker in you, similar to that of chess players, hence my kind of personal question.
Thanks for replying..

then who did it then if not the Russians? The British? The US? Israel?

And what would they have to gain buy knocking off one of pootin's most prolific critics?

If the Russians were so smart, they would be making electronics like smart tablets, phones, cars but they don't seem to be in the part like Germany, Britain, Japan, US, and Korea.

In the end, we don't particularly care if Pootin wriggles his sleazy arse out of this. he is a very slippery character. A mafioso, without accountability. He's literally a diktator. we all know this.

Another thing you disregard is Russia's track record. Which is much worse than Erdowan who barks loud. Pootin doesn't bark like an erratic lunatic. He just does. One is a little silly Corby with a bark, and the other is a Bulldog.

In Russia, dozens of journalists have disappeared over the years. So if you are looking for a pin up, it isn't Russia I'm afraid.

Clearly, with such myopic and prejudiced views - and the oft encountered left wing Putin worship (I wonder why) - "discussion" tends to be nugatory.

Just for the record.

Alexander Litivenko was a much decorated member of the Russian counter intelligence services, specialising in counter terrorist operations and the infiltration of organised crime. He eventually ended up a member of Putin's inner circle. He became disillusioned about Russian government connections with organised crime. How unusual! To cut a long story short he and his family fled Russia and came to the UK by a pretty complex process, ending up citizens there, he working for the oligarch - a billionaire who had also fallen out with Putin - Boris Berezovsky. With intimate knowledge of Putin he was the man who coined the phrase "Mafia state". After a request Litivenko agreed to meet 2 FSB men in the Millennium hotel, Knightstbridge. Subsequently he fell violently ill and was admitted to hospital with what turned out to be Polonium 210 poisoning. His death bed statement accused Putin of organising his poisoning.

"Anti Russian theatrics!"

Sergei Skripal was a Colonel in the Russian GRU and for a while was Director of their personnel department. He was arrested in 2004 and charged with being a double agent for the west. He was convicted and sentenced to 12 years. Subsequently he was released in a prisoner exchange deal (you know, with that hot blonde in the US  :D ).

Instead of sticking to the normal quiet retirement protocol for such events Skripal toured, teaching western intelligence agencies about the GRU. Putin made a comment about such people getting topped. The Russian ambassador in the UK denied it but you can easily find it on Youtube. In the winter of 2018 two Russian GRU guys arrived in the UK, checked into a motel in London, went to Salisbury the next day. Went there again the next day. Apparently they had this deep interest in visiting the cathedral there, although they never actually did. CCTV had them within walking distance of the Skripal's house, All the rest is history. Dawn Sturgess died from their activities but - let's be honest - who gives a fuck? I have read all sorts of total bollox on this forum about these activities. Total wankers who to me are the same as those in the UK in the 1930s who preached what's all the fuss about over that wonderful Mr Hitler. Verstehst du?

"Anti- Russian theatrics".

I could post lots of examples of the enemies of Putin being "taken care of" but TBH, what's the point?

30,000 killed pa in the US? Another straw man

I hear 1000 were run over by Chinese buses in 2019.

Anyway, like I said. Total waste of time.

BTW - "So start using that little pea under the scalp..." Obviously metaphor of the week. Imagine it makes you feel clever and........................ brave?
