just my personal opinion in response to you guys. Not necessarily representative of the general public. Your point being?

I would say that this is generally indicative of the average Turkish mind.

Turkey is clearly the agressor, that doesnt comply with international law, we see it in Cyprus, we see it in Syria, we see it with the agreements with Libya, we see it in the Aegean and the incursion in to Greece's airspace daily. We hear about the revival of the Ottoman empire and the disputed Greek islands that, should be Turkish.

And here you are chatting out of your backside, supporting it.

Greece and everyone else in the region, is just trying to defend themselves against an aggressive belligerent rogue state.

Yes, it would be better if Turkey's citizens and the people she elects where better international citizens.

The country is third world because of the quality of the people that live there, not the other way around. Even with RTE gone, Turkeys, policy and track record is all the same. Therefor, the problem is not just with RTE because nothing will probably change moving forwards unless the people change.

Just for the record. RTE is the aggressor and if truth be told he has managed to get the public behind him.

This issue with Greece (and Cyprus's) EEZ is just a symptom of problems that have been accumulating over a long time.

For example, the Cyprus issue cant be resolved for the last 50 years.

Turkey and the TC's are absolutely not reasonable, right or within any legal framework on this one. And the Turkish public and the TC's are behind it too.

Even the Turkish military want to flee to Greece,

3 members of the Turkish military were stopped yesterday as they tried to illegally go to Greece.

Like, this is unacceptable.......Either steal Greek territory or flood it with Turks under the guise of political asylum.

You could argue the TC's are the end result of your aggression and discrimination. You had it all. You had the economy, we were second class citizens. you made the whole world believe Greeks were the only inhabitants on the island. Wherever we travelled and was asked where we're from and we answered Cyprus they would say oooohhh, galimera. We had to explain there's also Turkish speaking Cypriots on the island. Sorry Max, you had it all and you fucked up good and proper. Start taking responsibility for your actions.

I forgot to mention the bullying. You bullied us no end. My old man has some horror stories, there are times I have to ask him to stop telling them as they're so fucking depressing.

This is part of the problem, one side says up, the other says down. One says lets do this, the other says lets do that.

So you were second class citizens, under your own empire ruling over GC's in Cyprus were you?

Then elevated to "equal partners" with a veto and disproportionate "shares" against the majority (for 3 years) and you were second class citizens were you?

then, with Turkeys help, you stole a shit load of property, expelled the GC and set up an illegitimate state all to yourselves. And you were second class citizens being bullied were you?

Yeah right.....

You could argue that you were second class citizens while running a colonial apartheid in the surrounding region for centuries but that does not mean people will believe you or recognize that.

It is just pure BS. You got the backlash because you didnt want to give up on the apartheid and treating others as second class citizens and then, you play the victim..

So for 350 odd years the Ottomans laid Cyprus to ruins until in 1878 when the Brits had not only liberated Cyprus from Ottoman trash, but had also embarked on the modernization of Cyprus leading to jobs and prosperity for many.

The tables had turned... Ottoman remnants had withdrawn into tiny enclaves and the bright future belonged to the native Cypriots.

But unfortunately my foolish compatriots were too stupid and too blind to appreciate such blessings... and they set about their own little plan to return to Ottoman slavery again which they code-named “Enosis”.

The "ingenious" plan went something like this...

“Let us unite our little village with that other greater village called Greece, thereby angering Turkey so that they may return to rule over us again!”

The Enosis plan was eventually quite successful, converting 37% of Cyprus back into Ottoman trash by 1974; the Cyprus donkey had won first prize at the local derby!

So there you have it... a concise summary of the modern history of Cyprus.

That’s a pretty hard-hitting but succinct analysis. Well, in my humble opinion, “speaking” as an often despised Outlander of course. I know, I know..............”You can piss off”.

At least you're honest enough to agree that your desire for Enosis is the start of all this shit. There is an undeniable fact that we are Cypriots, albeit Turkish speaking but Cypriots just like you. Ottomans did what empires did in the day. You can't deny the fact the remaining Ottoman remnants became victims of discrimination and bullying. yes, you're hundred percent right, the donkey won the prize and was awarded a saddle and it now thinks its a race horse.
