...what the Lebanese are enduring,

BEIRUT — Thursday marked the lowest recorded exchange rate of the Lebanese pound to the dollar in Lebanon, reaching a whopping 50,000 pounds.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese Parliament failed in its 11th attempt to elect a president on Thursday, leaving citizens feeling even more hopeless.

The Lebanese pound has lost more than 90% of its value since the economic crisis in 2019 when the pound was at 1,500 against the dollar.

Pity the US and its allies didn't respond to this as generously and rapidly as they have to Zelenskey's War Chest!

How; there is no Government. Who, there is no President.

...it is not so easy, Robin Hood; although it is a pity, and true.

...France too, has tried and failed to add good government to the lives of the People in Lebanon.

Pull the other one RW. Which colonials power ever run a colony to the benefit of the locals. They all sucked the blood out of the natives and left them dirt poor at each other's throats. And then they can turn around and claim these people just will not follow good governance.

What the hell was France doing in Lebanon? They should have stayed where they belonged inside France. Never mind how many millions they slaughtered in Algeria.

They are truly barbarian like the rest of the colonialists. Of course they convince themselves that they are there to civilise people and all that. Yeah right.

...you are quite right Lordo. France, indeed is no newcomer to Lebanon, and Macron still expands their military capacity like Britain and the other military-industrial complexes who sell arms to the rest of the world; your point?

...if you really want to help, go and visit. Spend dollars and have a good time; as a tourist, now, you couldn't have a better time. Beirut is very beautiful as you can see.
