From what i've seen life is much more expensive since my last visit 2 years ago.

In comparison to the USA!!!! We talk dollars they talk pounds. Adding the wage difference it is almost 3 times more than the USA.

I priced a Focus GHIA 4 door there. 1.6 Liter: 11,000 CY pounds. 23,000 dollars PLUS. Don't even ask how much one with a 2.0 Liter engine was. Even the sales person did not want to tell me because of the EXTRA luxury tax.

I bought my daughter a Focus ST, 4 dr, 2.3 Liter here. With same if not more options. 15,500 dollars. !!!!!

How do you people make it there it suprises me. Especially with the salaries.

It's normal Leo.... It is called Supply and Demand Law. The US need to supply cars for millions of customers... Cyprus has to supply cars for tens of thousands.... Hence they get a worse price than US. Same with all electronics as well.

The US has some of the cheapest cars in the world; the sheer scale of volume ensures that; Cypriot vehicles are expensive beacsue they all have to be imported and the taxation is very high.

Leo, Cy is part of the Eu, but each country decides on their prices EU is not like USA, where all the States follow the same rules in general. If you visit all countries of the Europe, each one has a different pricing than the other, taxation and VAT are different in each country. Sventlana also commented on that.
