Jesus Christ... really?
You got a lot of faith in the Greek banana.
Seriously?
You don’t think this is a good development? F-35s for Greece is a lot more important than any fishing trawlers the Cyprus Navy might have.
Didn't you ever think those F-35's would be in better hands in CY than your useless poushto Pontio Kalamarades.
You give them credit. You love them.
I call them out for what they are.... Scum.
No I don’t. Cyprus doesn’t have the experience or infrastructure to operate this kind of stuff.
It’s not just a matter of buying these aircraft. They have to be maintained and pilots need to be trained. There is an entire industry behind the scenes that keep them flying. Cyprus doesn’t have that. Greece has been operating fast jets dince the 60s. It was also the launch customer for the F-4 Phantom with Australia and US. That knowledge base and know how doesn’t just grow on trees or with a snap of our fingers. It will take Cyprus many years to get there.
But yeh, it would be nice. It will cost Cyprus 150 million per aircraft and probably several billions to set itself up and even upgrade its airports to have them because it’s not the kind of equipment you just leave out in the open.
Gripped is a better choice for Cyprus because Cyprus won’t have any airports.
And btw, Cypriot pilots are trained by the HAF in Kalamata.
