Yes they can do that, or just set up a seperate security architecture and not invite Turkey.
I think motion in this direction is already underway, with a seperate EU security structure. Erdog and his foreign minister dont like it.
At the end of the day, there is nothing stopping all the other NATO members in making separate security agreements with Finland, Sweden etc. to circumvent Turkiyes opposition.
Furthermore, dont think for a minute other EU countries wont help Greece in case of an attack from Turkiye.
Erdog has to be really dumb to attack Greece or any EU member state for that matter. The consequences will be quite devastating for Turkiye as well. Turkiye cant, in no way, handle the kind of sanctions imposed on Russia for their invasion of Ukraine. The only problem here is, the EU are hypocrites. Erdogan is illegally occupying and attacking multiple countries, and they haven't done anything about it. Putin Invades Ukraine, and EU member states trip over themselves to effect full punishment, to their own detriment as well.
iIts all to do with the timing, if Erdog actually attacks Greece, he will lose Turkiyes largest trading partner and send his country back 100 years, to the era of the disintegration of the Ottoman empire.
