But the traffic is now almost back to normal ........... and along with it all the fumes!
We are located some 410 m amsl in the hills and overlook the old port and Akrotiri and eastward to the new monstrous skyscraper some idiot is building for a reason that is not apparent as most of these blocks already built are mostly empty.
For the last few weeks there has been clear/clean air over the town ..... today and yesterday it is back to normal. You could almost say that properly planned within the prescribed limits set down by the Government, the 'lockdown' was a pleasant interlude.
Why do they not allow one registered vehicle per household and then let them on the road alternate days? Even numbered plates on even numbered days and vice versa. And then encourage use of public transport by making an automatic charge of say Eu5 for entering the zone and stiff on-the-spot fines for illegal parking. Even consider out-of-town parking with cheap or even free public transport down the sea front by various routes or to specific destinations like hospitals, clinics and Malls?
