Can't see any need for CyprusGrump to be grumpy over this luxury

There are vastly more people outside of Cyprus quarantine who live in far worse deprivation than that you describe and have done so not for a limited 14 days but for year after year after year. Whether you would wish that on your worst enemy or not, such deprivation has always existed and we generally been pretty indifferent to that, even though the 'solutions' are simple, compared to the hard choices about temporary quarantine for 14 days in the midst of a pandemic. For me this is the context in which I hear you 'righteous outrage' about the fate of a minuscule proportion of the population having to 'suffer' such quarantine having first had the choice to not return to Cyprus whilst such requirements are in place.
