Negotiations?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby bg_turk » Fri Jan 27, 2006 4:24 pm

They are immigrants who have come to Cyprus to search for new economic opportunities. None of them has been forced to come there, they have arrived with their own free will in accordance with the laws and regulations of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.

Yes, and if they knew anything about Cyprus, they would know of the situation and know of the risks; that if you come to a country through the part that is ILLEGAL, then you run the risk of being sent back. The TRNC is not legal, therefore, it has no rights to unilateraly allow immigrants to come to Cyprus. The people who go to North Cyprus must accept this risk and the risk of them being sent back if a solution materialises.

These people have arrived in the north of the island in full accordance with the laws and regulations of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and no solution that fails to take this into account will ever materialise.

Besides in my previous post I did not talk about first generation immigrants, I talked about second and even third generations immigrants. I repeat again: Under what justification are you going to send Cypriots back to Turkey because their parents were immigrants? Cyprus is their home and they are an unalieanable and unseperable part of it.

But many of them were born on Cyprus, how can you expell some Cypriots because their parents were immigrants. That is as racist as one can get!

I totally agree, Pirastis is a racist in denial, this is the worst kind of racist, most dangerous

Simon, Pirastis your all living in a dream world lol, the heats on Greek Cyprus, if you can't bring anything to the negotiation table very soon then more and more nations are gonna lift their embargo's of Turkish Cyprus and recognise it lol then your not gonna have a leg to stand on, all cos of your stubborness and ignorance.

The time's running out, either you accept Turks are part of Cyprus aswell and our right must be respected and ensured for unification or we'll just wait for more nations to remove their embargo's against us and accept us. I mean look at the present, we survived the worst of the sanctions, we survived everything thrown at us, now nations are lifting embargo's and accpting us think about it, you got a brain use it

As I said, carry on your petty arguments your un-logical arguments are like music to my ears.

I accept this. But it doesn't mean I accept the legitimacy of the TRNC. That is two different things. People can be split into groups.

Those who were not born in Cyprus and who do not have children, should be made to leave in any solution, simple as that. Since your illegal state was set up, you have taken more land than what you should have so you can bring an extortionate amount of Turks to Cyprus. This is not on and will not be accpeted.

People who were either born in Cyprus, or who now have children who were born in Cyprus should be allowed to stay. Again, this is based on fairness and both sides compromising. Although, it must be emphasised, that they do not stay at the expense to taking GC land. If they are in GC land, they must be re-housed elsewhere.

Lala, I completely agree with this, and after saying this, I hope you will start by changing your signature that says "Cyprus is Turkish and it will stay that way."

See. So they come illegally. Crystal clear.

Republic of Cyprus will decide based on its laws who of these people have the right to stay. If this will include only the ones that are married with TCs or also those that were born in Cyprus this is up to the courts of Republic of Cyprus to decide. If those people are not satisfied with the court rulings they have the right to go to European courts. Those that win their case there, again I have no problem if they stay.

Turkish Cypriots are part of Cyprus. Is this what you mean? Or you mean that Cyprus also belongs to the Turks from Turkey?

We have never said that Turkish Cypriots are not part of Cyprus. It is you that insists that Greek Cypriots should not be allowed to exist in the land that their ancestors inhabited for 1000s of years.

I totally agree, Pirastis is a racist in denial

What from what I said is racist exactly? I never said anything against a whole race. I always refer to certain groups of people (the ones that do not accept the respect of legality, democracy and human rights), or about the official administration of Turkey (basically the army and their puppets).

On the other hand you are racist because you insist on maintaining the ethnic cleansing that was performed in 1974, and you demand the separation and discrimination of people based on their race.

BG,

I also agree that this issue has to be agreed in a humanitarian way. I believe Greek Cyriots also agree on this, because from the proposals that were put forward by the GC leaders, I understand that they just want to reduce the number of settlers/immigrants that will stay.

Reaching to a solution is vital for the Turkish Cypriot community, so we cannot demand that all of them stay in Cyprus after a solution, knowing that this can prevent a solution. A solution is also better for settlers/immigrants because they have realized what the situation in Cyprus is after the checkpoints were opened. They live in great uncertainty. Many accept to go back to Turkey. Since it was Turkey that brought these people here, then Turkey should accept the responsibility. Turkey should build housing and relocate the remaining settlers/immigrants from GC property. Turkey again should convince and take care of the ones that will have to go.

bg_turk, they are not immigrants, and we both know that

above all, as sadik said they are humans. a number of them will stay.some of them will have to leave as well. thats a fact. in general there exists a compromise on that matter. and i agree with that compromise
