Indeed, the "Soft Power" of China has its allure spanning half the globe with their plans linking these countries to the infrastructure they need to secure their own economy; NATO, or more accurately the US, in effect for the last fifty years have kept the seas free, for all to trade. These are two completely different stories; one where you do not appreciate the benefits from its results, and another which may sound good incomplete, but is already in difficulty.

Freedom, is an American interest (any Patriot for that matter). Ten, Lordo; there are ten, China declares as intended without delay. And Freedom is 'our' intention, what with its results not just over fifty year but for about 350.

...let's remember such notions, like one man one vote, Liberty, Freedom, Basic Human Rights and Universal Principles have been hard fought for to become a part of our everyday life, and they are easily lost having the expectation that 'we' are entitled to them. Ignorance, like Hunger and Disease are real enemies that do not abate; they fester, such facts are in our face with this Age of Information. As you say, 'we' should not be fighting each other; Lest we Forget, i'll add.

...and as i've said before Lordo, be careful how you generalise and who you blame. There is a big difference between Americans and "Americans", just like 'us' and "Them".
