As for the food, I am sure it helps, but how can you be sure the right people are getting it, as from what I have heard many are taking advantage and getting food supplies when they can actually afford to buy themselves.
Good luck all the same.
Thanks re gowns. The 'how do you know right people are getting help' - that is a question that has never had a good answer, be it unemployment benefit or any other kind of 'support' and is as old as the hills. I think we are doing better than other efforts myself. Firstly in terms of data - as we help we are also building database systems that give us better information on who has got what help when and ion what amounts. this in itself does not stop 'blaggers' but it helps. We are alos using known 'community leaders' from all sorts of different ethnic communities - people we either had first of 2nd degrees of connection with and knowledge off. They know where those most in need in their communities are and who the blaggers are. Finally not yet implemented but I am hoping and seeking to not just drop of a packet of food to some random stanger and that is it. I hope to build relationships with the people we are helping and two way communication via whatsapp principally where possible (of corse some will not have such means) where by we are communicating with them between delivering aid, asking how things are going. Finally I will at some point be calling for both those we are helping and anyone else to 'shop' blaggers to us so we can investigate. That if you know of someone getting help from COSH who you suspect does not deserve it, then tell us and we will be on the case.
Anyway if you want top keep following our story / journey I will be using this
https://kibkomnorthcyprusforum.com/viewforum.php?f=78 to keep telling it. Transparency to ridiculous degrees is at the core of COSH and its efforts.
