...no women, no old people; just a bunch of hyped-up machos who feel entitled.

...i hope they don't go to visit their mothers and their fathers with minds like these.

...if there is an enemy yialousa, it is too soon to fight; is your intention anything more?

It is wiser to stay silent, stay calm, and to reason, i think; if there is an enemy better not to fight, but in time to defeat them.

Fascists will always seek to exploit real people's real fears for their own ends. Thus it has always been.

Thinking back to my Trotskyist days as a student in the 1970's UK, I remember the far left as being the sole and little-heard voice of sanity protesting against the encroachments on civil liberties and fundamental rights under successive Prevention of Terrorism Acts in an atmosphere in which the population was being worked up into a disproportionate hysteria over the risk from the IRA's bombing campaign in Britain. Yet, the encroachments under these PTAs more or less melt into significance compared to recent events in the world, with everywhere suddently turned into police states and the entire planet having been placed under house arrest with elections cancelled, parliaments dissolved and governments ruling by decree. Yet, far from hearing a murmur of disapproval from the left about this, the left seems to be crowing for more.

Emergencies require emergency measures. It is a matter of balance.

We as individuals and as groups are responsible for the degree of police state-ism we allow. I do not 'fear' an erosion by 'state actors' using this emergency as an excuse. I fear 'people'. To take one example try looking up the channel 'crimebodge' on youtube. This guy has been producing content that educates and informs about systemic police failings for years now. It is not MSM. It does not get MSM coverage. Do people support him in these efforts ? Do they educate themselves and others ? Do they spread his videos and content vi rally ? To some degree. But not to the same degree they will spread videos about how 5G is a satanist illuminati plot designed to kill us. Even in my own case, have I spent more of my 'time minutes', my 'thought minutes' on issues like this or watching google box and britions got talent. My answer shames me. The threat to our freedoms is US. It is down to US, our choices, our priorities and for me narratives that it is about 'them' are just cop outs. We either want to spend our time finding the ways and means to protect our liberties by effort and action ourselves as individuals, or we just want to blame everyone but ourselves so we can go on as individuals doing fuck all other than talking a good game.

If emergencies require emergency measures, why were these things not done at the time of the 1968 so-called Hong Kong flu, which is estimated to have claimed up to four million lives globally? I don't believe it has anything to do with protecting people's health. The situation is being used to stage a power grab. There is a political agenda behind all this. I am not sure what, yet, but we are going to find out and it is not going to be good for the vast majority of humanity.

before this 'situation' what had you personally ever done, other than 'talk', to hold power to account ? To ensure the powers already granted were not abused ? if the honest answer to this is nothing or next to nothing, then any 'worry' about how even more powers may be grabbed under the excuse of the current crisis, is just a futile waste of time.

all imo
