The Common Hoopoe is found in many places around the world but I couldn’t help myself from posting its picture as they often land in my garden. The reason is because I’ve got a big patch of very low growth which they prefer to find insects. I spray this patch with weed killer 2-3 times a year resulting in something “baldish” that really attracts birds to find nesting material and insects. Of course, I discovered this by accident so I preserve it this way and watch countless birds come and go on this patch from a distance.
