I am not religious but I can agree with them. Religion has its place in civilization, and the lack of religion or god absence within can lead to degeneracy.

Some human stupidities of the current time, in my opinion are ;

-political correctness
-being "woke"
-liberalism.
-Gender "studies"
-Trump derangement syndrome

Liberals in this day and age are so open minded, their brains have fallen out.

They are at the pinnacle of human stupidity.

I agree with you 100%

Those things are the real stupidities, not religion, fashion or climbing mountains or being active.

I’m not religious, however, religions play an important role in our society which only the stupid and most militant atheists will try to ignore and downplay. For instance, aside from all the things I mentioned, religious educational establishments educate our children. We send our children to these schools to protect them. These schools seem to be the best establishments in the education system, and I will also add, religions also own many of our private hospitals in Australia which offer care to the population.

There are of course other benefits for those who need religion. I’m not prepared to deny these people from their beliefs, discourage them, or belittle them. It’s a real tough world and people need help out there and religions do offer that helping hand to the people who need it and request it. Even if it is someone to talk to.

Can you imagine the fear out there among the elderly right now? The panic is most certainly unhealthy and not helping the situation at all.

Also, religion does help the diaspora to maintain their identity and culture. All I see is positives, and zero negatives.

Brainwashing is rampant world wide. The human race would be a lot more happier without religions. The feeble minded may well need this mythological nonsense but those who have and use logic do not need it. Social conscience is whar you need not bloody faury tales.

I don’t think the whole world would be happier without religion.

I think the opposite is true. As a matter of fact, the religious seem to be the most happy and content people. And a more positive mental wellbess.

And I also believe suicide will skyrocket further without religion.

You have a very big fixation on religion when it offers millions of families around the world support and guidance.

You see Miltiades! You seem to be a victim. Someone who portrays wokeness. That you have had your awakening whilst others haven’t because they are stupid.

That speaks volumes about your arrogance.

You would say this wouldnt you. After all your speciality is spewing opinions on everything without the use of logic.
Religions create divisions, hatred, fear and restrict humans from using their brain.
I woke up over 50 years ago. Im the happiest man alive. I have no fear of death.and neither do I EVER pray to a non existent entity. You and others sharing your views do so because they are shit scared .Just in case as they say.
By the way, by far the best education you can give your children is Social education.

Again, religion does not do that all.

It spreads love, understanding, education, health care, provides counselling, and a sense of community. It removes fear from the lives of so many. Usually, the religious do not fear death either but are more at peace with the journey of life.

Having come face to face with death on a couple of occasions, I do not fear it at all. I am content knowing it can come to me at any moment but I do like to minimize my rush where I can.

It’s You who is spreading your illogical hatred, and you do not sound happy at all.

Your opinions on education are null and void. I listen to the experts and am a believer in STEM as well.

So here are some of my personal 'human stupidities'

Believing that constant and never ever ending growth, of economies, population or anything else, can lead to anything but disaster.

Thinking it is a good idea to fuel the search for constant unending growth by burning capital (like fossil fuels) that have taken 100,s of millions of years to accumulate in times spans of 100's of years.

Believing that dividing ourselves up in to arbitrary groups and then setting those groups in opposition to each other is a good, necessary or only way to behave.

Believing that structuring things such that one individual can accumulate own and control wealth that is billions of times higher than global average can be a stable structure.

I am very comfortable with my mortality.

And you have no right to call the religious stupid.

I have read many books in philosophy, and even from militant atheists exploring things for myself. I’m still Agnostic, and I’m certainly not a militant atheist like I was because religion has touched me and my family in so many positive ways, I would be an idiot not to recognize them or show gratitude.

They are the institutions I trust my children to as well.

BTW, I don’t believe there is such a thing as Atheism!

People who call themselves Atheists, are not completely honest with themselves.

People really do need to see the meaning of the word and the word Atheist is very absolute. People who say they are Agnostic have more of an open mind and have consideration for that small element of doubt. It’s human as well as humane. That I can respect and more so for the fact I think I belong in this category myself.

So I ask you so called Atheists this! What makes you so absolute or sure?

You come across in this forum as one of the most 'absolutist' people here imo. For example you appear to think there can be absolutely no doubt that the net impact of religion is positive.

You see, I can’t say they are stupid if I was offered shelter as an orphan like you were in your hour of need. If it wasn’t for them, who would have helped you?

I can’t say they are stupid when my kids attend a CoE private school or attend church and are best pals with a wonderful priest. I can only encourage it and thank my lucky stars that they are hanging with nice people and nice families.

I can’t criticize them when my children were born in a CoE owned private hospital or when I go to one of these hospitals for essential health services as a private patient.
