Everything seems completely normal. The car-park was less than half full and when we got inside there were no empty shelves to be seen and just the normal number of shoppers, mostly locals. The staff were all wearing masks and latex gloves and the bakery was shut off .... no more slicing your own bread, you point at what you want and they cut it for you. Those signs and the fact the little coffee shop was closed, were the only signs of anything different! We got everything we wanted, plus some.
We then decided to get some face masks and a pack of latex gloves. We have two pharmacies available and neither had face masks but we got the gloves with no problem. I then topped the tank up on the car, again all very quite with no restrictions and drove straight up to the pump to fill up.
The DIY centre is open as are most other shops with the exception of coffee shops, cafes and restaurants. Those closed all had notices on the door (
Didn't stop to see what the notices said.) The only sign of police was an accident where some idiot drove his Mercedes into the storm water drain at the side of the road, but no one hurt, just a pretty big repair bill for someone! Didn't see a single APC or tank, not even an army lorry. A couple of Cypriot
'Air Force' helicopters just flew over, but that happens almost every day and at more or less the same time ....... and they didn't have any Hellfire missiles that I could see!
So it seems us backward Third World communities have a far more laid back approach to this virus, than the first world countries like US, UK, Canada, the EU and of course ......... Australia, where it seems that the apocalypse is apparently becoming a
'Real World' , (
a month at least), lockdown event according to some information I received and implied the Aussies are likely to soon to be seeing armed troops on the street shooting citizens that dare to leave there enforced isolation to grab the government food aid being thrown out of APC by the military into the front garden. But then the '
someone' who gave me that impression is always wrong, so I think the prediction is the same as all the others he makes ...... bullshit, driven by propaganda!
