If they commence flights in July, we will be back to square one in no time, because most that come will be from heavily infected countries like the UK, They must be of their Fkn heads.

4 years ago - in one of your frequent drunken posting sessions - you said "Watch me get rid of this hypocrite Robin". You didn't and I am still here. Whether you like it or not M - suck it up.

WTF are you talking about? Cyprus had just paid off its huge loan from 2012… like two months ago, and then this shit suddenly happens!

Do you know what’s in the RoC’s kitty-bank right now? Next to nothing! We even had to do some bartering with Israel recently… drugs in return for equipment!

A lot of people here who were small-time self-employed have already run out of cash and there’s nothing coming from the government yet! We have already adopted two families (relatives)… I withdraw, place 200-300 euros in envelopes then drive to their front gates and slip them in their letter boxes and send them an SMS with an exclamation mark.

That’s what the situation is like right now and you call it a “walk in the park”? How long do you think we can keep going like this before the masses are forced into “herd immunity”? Nicos isn’t stupid… he knows the machine has to be fired up soon or face total collapse.

The situation is temporary. Yes, no one knows how long but it will not last forever.

The situation you describe is common to most countries. A lot of people doing it tough. Especially the self employed and small family business owners who were forced to shut. Businesses like restaurants, cafes, hotels and pubs are all shut. The good thing here is that our Government is providing a lot of support to the unemployed, small business and even subsidising wages. But for how long? And when it’s over there will be a huge tab to pay so it’s likely taxes will go up.

If Cyprus paid all its debt then its on easy street. It will ride it through. However it’s not out of debt is it? Just like most other countries.

Sadly, people are going to find it pretty tough for the next 6 months. But what choice do we have? It’s basically a war, with the enemy being a bug the likes we haven’t seen before. A disease that is highly contagious. We need to look after the health of the majority of people. That’s priority number 1. Then everything else after that will eventually fall into place and the globe will recover. But in the meantime it will be economic depression. Everyone knows that. Everyone is digging deep looking after people and helping each other out.

It’s in times like these we see the best in humanity as well, after also seeing the worst from a few people fighting over toilet rolls. The vast majority of people do the right thing, but we don’t hear about all these people, just the idiots that do stupid things disrespecting fellow humans in their society and their very basic needs.

Cyprus is hardly in dire straits with 600 odd cases. It’s probably one of the countries that will get off lightly. In Australia, we too look like we might get off lightly so far. Hopefully we can keep it up. Imagine if we didn’t let a few cruise liners dock. We would only have 2000 odd cases. This is all very new for everyone.

Fuck, that’s premature. I wouldn’t be letting any tourists in at all this year.

Not until everyone is on top of it and Europe is far from on top it. Same as the USA.

If this clown plans to let in 1.5 million people in Cyprus from July, then you guys are literally fucked!

I think he is dreaming though. No way will the Brits be thinking on taking a vacation anywhere let alone Cyprus until this is over.

No. You can forget this year totally. There's nobody champing at the bit to fly overseas for a holiday. Also, there's talk about severe restrictions in the future on the number of people allowed on aircraft flights. "Social distancing". A doubling of fare prices is being banded about.

A main concern of course is that - like influenza - this bug will become seasonal.

The last flight I was on, there were 20 passengers. Government is subsidising the flights otherwise they would be canned altogether.

Then you walk through the police line and then line up for your medical check with military waiting to take non essential travellers away to their isolation.

Never seen anything like it.

"Stop wearing medical gloves in public! It's a hygienic mess on a massive scale." That's how drastically Dr. Marc Hanefeld put it on Twitter and Facebook. "Under the glove, bacteria happily multiply in the warm, humid space. And after taking it off, without disinfection, you have a sewer on your hands. Congratulations!" says Hanefeld, a medical doctor from Bremervörde in northern Germany.

Welcome to the new totalitarian system being fabricated on the back of a flu-like virus (shown in the first serious scientific study to be conducted using random samples from a representative section of the population of a German town by Professor Hendrik Streek to have a mortality rate of 0.37%) with the sheeple all bleating in approval, having been worked into a state of mass hysteria through 24/7 non-stop sensationalist, slanted reporting by the media!
