Good to see Boris Johnson on the road to recovery.

Saw his speech praising NHS medical staff and attributing his survival to them. He still looked quite ill to me. A bit like death warmed up so it appears he really did have a close call as he himself put it. He still didn't look anywhere near 100% to me.

Just goes to show that Chy-na Virus is pretty brutal and quite scary. It's definitely nowhere near like the common flu or any other virus we might get in our lifetimes.

So yeh, we got to take this seriously. Boris isn't exactly an old person or an unhealthy individual with underlying health issues either. And he said he could have gone either way...

Here is an interesting statistic. Australia has reported that more than half of their 6400 cases has recovered and yet only 450K out of 1.9 million global cases have recovered.

I am of the opinion that most countries are under reporting their recoveries and that the global recoveries are probably closer to the 900K to 1 million mark if the Australian trend is accurate. I also believe that Australia has been under reporting and there recovery rate is higher still as well,

Overall the stats are ~2million cases and <150K deaths... Out of a population of ~7bn

In technical terms I think that counts as 'fuck all'...

It’s a mistake to assume that all those considered “recovered” are now back to normal and/or naturally inoculated from this.

The stories I’ve read speak of discharged patients who were formerly participants in the annual marathon, and now not able to walk from the bed to the toilet unassisted!

Any permanent decrease in the functionality of one’s lungs is a very serious disability to walk away with.

Which is very encouraging because I can’t wait to get over to the States so hoping there is a very quick recovery and the airlines are back to normal.

Let’s kill this Chy-na Virus!

Plus Europe too. Good luck to all the European countries that got hit hard so we can all go back to normal. We are all in this together so go Italy, Spain, France, Germany, UK and every other country in dire straits.

Personally speaking, until a vaccine is found for Coronavirus and everyone is inoculated, I wouldn’t pay much attention to the so called “leveling of the peak” as only a fraction of people have been tested in any country. In the USA only about 2-3 million people has been tested in the last 3-4 weeks with about 20%-25% positive rate of about 550,000. What about the rest of the 230 million people who has not been tested yet. Unless by miracle the remaining 230 million people are virus free because of lockdown, there are always going to be more cases until the vaccine is found. The same rule will apply to other countries also.

As for the airline industry getting back to normal, it will take time and since services will be cut and some airlines not return at all, there won’t be a pilot shortages for a while either.

Btw, I meant to say 330 million people and not 230 million. Writing on the iPad and smartphone is pain in the rear end sometimes.

In about 3 months....

I disagree. I think the world has a bit of a problem with Chy-na Virus. However, it is something we can beat. But only if we all play our cards right.

There is no need for the Americans to test their entire population.

The vast majority of people have a very low risk of getting it. it's pointless testing people who have no symptoms and have had no exposure to people who have had the disease.

To get tested in Australia, you need to have at least 1 of the system or be in a high risk area or cluster like on a cruise ship such as the Ruby Princess or on a flight that has had 1 passenger test positive. I presume the Americans are doing something similar.

I have to agree with this guy that Vitamin D does play a significant role.

People need to ensure they get a bit of sun. If you don't get any sun, your immunity gets run down, and you are vulnerable.

Now we are going to have to be particularly weary of countries like Russia, Turkey, North Korea and perhaps Chy-na.

These countries are not as transparent and it's doubtful they report the true extent of their Chy-na Virus problem.

So, we will need to maintain travel restrictions indefinitely to these countries unless they allow inspectors.

It's not the first time I heard that Russia alone could have more cases than the USA.
