That’s what I believe.

Covid isn’t going away.

But at lest with vaccination programs, the global exonomy may go back to normal with Covid ticking over in the background.

In time, Covid will just be another disease.

Which is why you too should also be vaccinated against Covid-19 with all those “carriers” around you that might kill you.

Kikapu, I’m not an anti vaxxer. I’m ok with taking the vaccine. I’m just cautious because it seems all a little too rushed.

If I’m going to continue flying I’m certain I won’t have a choice anyway. It will be out of my hands.

But I’m now at the crossroads and could be one of thousands who might walk from the industry forever. Hang up the headset and focus on other things. Could be biting off a lot of stuff I’ll need to chew.

I have no idea if I can turn my back on aviation. I could do it fir a while but I could also get depressed every time I see a plane fly over me. We pilots are all the same. We do love the job very much, and I mean very much. It’s a Mistress that we are attached to. She can seduce us again and again. But I never expected I’ll ever be thinking this way before Covid.

So I could frame my wings and hang them on a wall, only to get them off the wall 1 or 2 years later. I told my neighbour who works for QF B787 and another who also works for QF on A380 and they both said that was the biggest bullshit they heard me say. The A380 guy has retired now but he is 59 years old. The B787 guy is 43. Both don’t believe I can do it.

But the other choice is to do my own thing and there are no more sim checks . :D That’s the house of horrors and never met anyone who enjoys them. The only good part is when the roasting is all over...

It seems immunisation will be compulsory in Australia.

Every citizen will be issued with an immunisation certificate.

If you are not immunised for Covid or anything else they deem necessary like the flu jab for instance then you are restricted as follows:

1) you will not be able to renew your passport,
2) you will not be allowed to travel overseas,
3) you will not be able to work for the Australian Public Service,
4) you will not be allowed to work in the airline industry, work at a university, work in the mining sector,

But I gather if you hold another passport, they can’t stop you if you are going to travel on that document. Speculating here.

They just announced they are working on new laws to put all of this in place.

Sounds like a violation of human rights to me.

I’m sure other countries are going to do something similar. So there will be a price to pay if you refuse the needle.

I can’t say I agree with this. There will be a back lash from the people. Massive demonstrations that will make BLM look good.

Taking away choice and freedom of movement it sounds like to me.

So pretty much have the injection or else. Those who don’t won’t be travelling. If any Cypriots don’t take it for instance, they will never step foot or see Cyprus again.

I am certain the above rules will be adopted by most countries, if not by all.

Countries will make the Coronavirus as a National Security threat to get around any Human Rights violations, should it be violated by imposing vaccination for all. Having a second passport might allow you to leave Australia, but they won’t be allowed to return unless vaccinated.

Most Americans do not travel abroad, so I can see many Americans refusing to vaccinate, primarily Trump supporters unless he too gets vaccinated on camera. That will be the worse case scenario if half the country does not vaccinate next to no one vaccinating. I have never took a flu jab in my life since I hardly catch a cold in winter. With Covid, I am willing to add one more layer of projection by getting the Covid vaccine.

...mixing and matching vaccines, is it a good idea.

A very important issue because it is already apparent, in America, at least that this has already been done. People who got their second dose in many cases did not know what kind of dosage they got first.

...extremely unlikely that the virus comes from a lab.

...in the coming months (or years) the source will be found, as far as this WHO official is concerned.
