I'm not surprised...

Mrs. CyprusGrump had all the symptoms while visiting the UK last November. Many others reported 'bad flu symptoms' at the time... I'm convinced she had it...

If it has been 'in the wild' since last November but still has <1million cases and 50,000 deaths world wide it really isn't as deadly/infectious as is being made out...

She couldn't have had it. the first case appeared in China in about October last year. UK's first case would have been in January, or December at the earliest.

You miss the point...

Lots of people had the symptoms late last year, it could well have been the virus but just not identified as such....

Do you think it is reasonable that 'Ground Zero' is measured from the first time that the 'serious flu' was identified as China Virus and that it couldn't have been 'in the wild' weeks or months earlier...? Of course it could...

Well could be. Anything is possible.

I am starting to think we have been hit hard with a bio terror attack. I'm not into conspiracy theories, but I can't rule the possibility out either.

And what is obvious to me if this is the case, no western country was behind it. I'm thinking we are literally at war. A new type of warfare.

One thing is for sure. this is a big wake up call and we are all going to have to re-evaluate our dealings with China.

Of course...

We will see what happens down the track. There are a few things that just don't add up.

I'm not convinced of it or made my mind over it and am still thinking the possibility is remote, however, I think some caution here is well warranted.

There will be a lot of twists and turns here.

And it will change the way we do business with China forever.

A lot of people are wanting to ban all Chinese investment here.

But I agree it is unlikely because they had thousands of infections and many deaths in one of their most important cities. But their figures right now don't make any sense. I can't see how they got on top of it so well unless they have a vaccine.

Russian has just gone ballistic as well. They were doing well for so long but they now have a bad trajectory. A bit like Turkey who were reporting no cases and all of a sudden they became they went out of control.

They are now infecting ferrets with China Virus.

The idea is to then inject them with 2 vaccine candidates, one being an anti malaria type vaccine. they said though, that this vaccine is 12 months away from being available for humans. That's not good enough. In 12 months, there would be millions of infections, and many deaths. They are going to have to fast track things.

We did a shop today. I did the SMS route for me and the wife had Form B. Gathered all the paperwork Passport, MEU 3 and for my wife a letter from CING on her medical limitations. We got down to the main road and the police stopped us.

I handed each document relating to Mrs to the officer first and having looked at them, he just says “OK ... you can go!” I was very upset he didn’t even ask to see MY SMS permission at all! He must have thought I was the hired help!

Going round the supermarket an elderly English couple came toward me obviously having a bit of a row! He led off with “Stop bloody ‘mythering’ (?) me woman!” and stomped off in a huff. She looked at me and raised her eyebrows. I said “They did say this lock-down would see a surge in divorces!”. She smiled and said “What did they have to say about MURDER?” Then we laughed and went on our way.

Got to the Bank. Three people waiting to go in so I waited. Just coming to my turn when some old man barges in front and said “I’m 72!” I congratulated him on his longevity and told him I was 79 so he could f**k off and join the queue. The Cypriot woman behind me went ballistic at the old man who looked as if he thought his life was about to end. He put his head down and retreated to the back of the queue. I did offer the lady the door when it opened but she insisted I should go first. That's what I appreciate ..... respect for the elderly as she looked older than me !

It’s a real problem having the DIY and builders merchants closed, I have so many jobs to do outside and they are all closed.

Does anyone know if a trip to the DUMP (Green Centre) is considered essential and comes under (8) ‘other’? :?:

Superhome are doing deliveries:

https://www.superhome.com.cy/en/working-hours

I did hear on another forum that you can order online from their catalogue or by phone and pick up at the store but I can't verify that.

Not wishing to downplay the gravity of something as serious as a global pandemic but - the average annual winter deaths in England (not UK) from influenza: 17000.

Duh, there were hardly any corona related deaths until week 11.

Based on past days death tolls you will raise the curve with as much as indicated below. It is still fewer deaths compared to the worst of January, but you cannot argue that is less than normal.
