There’s a new shortsighted theory doing the rounds that Covid-19 can’t be so bad because the total number of deaths per year (from all causes) has actually decreased during 2020 than for previous years for many countries.

This statistic appears to be true but what these people don’t seem to realize is that the extraordinary measures taken worldwide throughout 2020 to fight Covid-19, have also impaired countless other airborne transmittable viruses/pathogens such as Influenza, Common Cold, Chickenpox, Mumps, Measles, Whooping cough, Tuberculosis, Smallpox, Meningitis, Anthrax and many others!

All these viruses would’ve claimed many more victims worldwide if it hadn’t been for the combined, unprecedented and phenomenal resistance the world has put up to fight Covid-19... so don’t let that feeble argument fool you.
