Not exactly, Paphitis. Yes, at present time your statement seems true, but it is very much misleading, because you are dismissing the incubation period that it takes 2-4 weeks for patient to die after contracting the virus. Let’s look at the death numbers in about 2-3 weeks and see where they are. The “low” death numbers we have now are the numbers achieved with the lockdown, but as the new cases has exploded in the USA (50,000+ yesterday) after the lock down and the numbers are also increasing in other countries who are not practicing social distancing and the use of masks, I expect death rates to rise rapidly and sharply.

Happy to wait another 2-3 weeks to prove you wrong...

But haven't we already completed this experiment with the BLM protests in London...? :?

What are you waiting for, that more people will not die than those numbers today? :?

So I guess once the lockdowns were lifted that we are now having more positive cases than before, therefore that question asked by myself has now been answered, wouldn’t you say CG? :D

Had there been no lockdowns at all, we would be having much much more positive cases and deaths now than we are having now.

You lost me with the BLM comment. :D

Switzerland has just ruled that as of Monday July 6th ALL passengers on trains, buses, boats must wear a mask. For few weeks we had positive cases in the 20s, but in the last few days it has risen to 130+, therefore since some people do not want to voluntarily wear masks on Public Transportation, now they will be required to do so.

Your personal opinion on this is not matched by the data... I'll see you in two weeks...

I suspect he’s talking about the predicted surge in cases after tens of thousands took to the streets to protest about a man killed in another country, thousands of miles away.

No wonder I was lost with that statement since I never made it.

I think CG was talking about Max instead. :D

Errr, no....

You are claiming that we will be dropping like flies in 2-3 weeks because of lack of social distancing... :?

But we've already run that experiment after the George Floyd protests in London (BLM) where thousands gathered and shouted after his death on May 25th and yet we haven't seen an upsurge in deaths.

As I said, I'll give you another chance and compare notes in two weeks...

Oh man, you are all over the place. :D

No, people are not going to be dropping like flies in two weeks, but I was answering Paphitis’s comment that positive cases are rising but death rates were dropping, so I said wait 2-4 weeks and let’s see what happens to the death rates as daily positive new cases have doubled in the last week or two.

Few thousand BLM’s demonstrating is a drop in the bucket compared to UK’s 60+ million population. Besides, many demonstrating had some form of masks on despite no social distancing observed most of the time.

They *ARE* dropping like flies... +2,292 deaths worldwide today!

Just because victims are spread all over the planet doesn’t mean that they’re not dropping like flies from this virus.

That’s a hell of a lot of dead every 24 hours!
