Very old tantrum: "Make America great again!"

March 10: “And we’re prepared, and we’re doing a great job with it. And it will go away. Just stay calm. It will go away.” — Trump after meeting with Republican senators.

March 26: The US is great again! They have more contaminated people than China.

I don't know who is the most incompetent fro the two ....Clowns. Trump or BJ!!
America has as yet to reach the peak bearing in mind that millions are not ....affluent enough to afford the cost of a test. Yet there are stupid people who actually think that Trump is ... the geatest ...POUTOS ( Cypriot for ...cunt ) that the US has ever had. Likewise in the UK

I have to say that the apparent rise in trumps popularity as indicated by polls is baffling to me. I do not find the explanation that they are 'stupid' particularly satisfying. A less unsatisfying explanation of these poll result for me would be

Most people in US do not believe that they will die from this virus. Or their loved ones. Or their loved ones that have years and decades to live without the virus. Thus I think the calculus is along the lines of 'am I prepared to suffer economic loss in order to stop OTHER people dying' and for a majority in the US the answer is no. Hence the support for the way Trump is handling the crisis to date. Of course it is all degrees but on the whole I find such a rationalisation for the apparent increase in Trump's popularity more convincing that 'they are stupid'. Should the number of deaths in the US increase to 100,000s and I sincerely hope it does not, then this calculus based on the belief that it is other people dying vs them suffering economically might change.

This Is Why Americans Are Scared To Death Of Being Tested For The Coronavirus - By Michael Snyder

March 24, 2020 "Information Clearing House" - How would you feel if you received a bill for more than $34,000 after being tested and treated for the Coronavirus?

A woman in the United States says she was billed $34,927.43 after being tested and treated for the coronavirus, Time magazine reports. When Danni Askini first came down with the symptoms of the virus — shortness of breath, a fever, a cough and migraines — she was told by a doctor to go to the emergency room. There, she was told she had pneumonia and could go home. She visited the emergency room two more times as her symptoms persisted and worsened before she was finally tested for the coronavirus. Three days later her results showed she had COVID-19.

How in the world is it possible for a bill to get that high?

As Danni pointed out, she now owes the hospital more than she paid for both of her college degrees.
"So this story is about my experience with COVID and my final hospital bill: $34,927.23 - an amount that I will never be able to repay and more than I paid to get both my Bachelors and Masters degree." @realDonaldTrump @ewarren @AyannaPressley please help! https://t.co/pJApXMPzcW

More fake news.

the US pays all medical attention to patients suffering from Chinese Flu.

In addition, you can pay for insurance in the US, similar to what we do in Australia as well. For a family, it costs a bit under $2000 USD for a family of 4. Covers everything from dental, hospital cover, pharmaceuticals, physio etc etc. So no, you are far better of paying for insurance rather than not seeking medical attention. The systems are available, and ERs are available to everyone as well.

I was almost going to take out a policy myself. I have been paying a policy like this in Australia since the age of 18.

The positive about the US System is that the US has one of the lowest tax regimes in the world. Workers pay very low tax. So in theory, they should pay for insurance. Not everyone can afford it though and there is no safety net but tax is low and people need to take responsibility rather than the State providing everything at twice the cost.

To be fair, I would prefer to be paying for insurance and receive the quality care I do receive when I need rather than chance it with Cypriot Health Services which tbh just do not compare. Some of the private hospitals are absolutely top notch and in a league of their own. Some of the best facilities in the world.

our insurance policies also cover ambulance and even international medivac in a Learjet!

No it does not.

and from people who actually have some idea of what they are talking about

Insurance companies need to make profit and year on year increasing profit. That is all money that is not spent on healthcare, yours or any one else's. Private hospitals need to make profit and year on year increasing profit. That is all money that is not spent on healthcare, yours or any one else's.

Be treated by an entity that is only doing so in order to make profit or be treated by an entity who's only purpose is to treat you. I know which sounds better to me.
