I like the way the reporter claims Turkey fucked Cyprus up. I got news for her. Cyprus was fucked up by Makarios back in 1960 when after the elections he ignored them and gave Akel only 5 seats instead of 13 which the percentage vote they got demanded.

Lets move on to 1974. Greece has had a fascist dictatorship for 7 years. They organise a coup in Cyprus and remove the elected President Makarios and put in his place a known child murdering EOKA man. Take it from here. What should Turkey have done? Please explain I am all ears.

Very interesting.

AKEL organized a conference on the theme "50 Years of Cyprus, Zero Time". Memet Ali Talat, a politician and former leader of the Turkish Cypriot community and CTP, was also invited to the conference.
In his intervention, Talat was particularly revealing in terms of Turkey's contemporary positions and in terms of our own responsibilities for the Cyprus non-resolution.
Turkey said it always wanted a two-state solution, but there were times it accepted to change attitude and support a federation solution. These periods were 2004 and 2017. Today Turkey does not support a federation solution.
He was particularly sultry for AKEL's stance when he led the Turkish-Cyprusians with their large majority supporting the solution case. In 2004, you said no to the solution, he said, while when he was persistently asking for the signing of a document with the convergence on which the two leaders agreed, in the presence of the UN General Assembly, Dimitris, Talat said, preferred to talk for 1 hour with Karojian than to resolve the Cyprus issue.
After the 28th minute Talat's intervention.

Interesting report by Sevgul Uludag. According to Dr Christina Valanidu the essence of education in Cyprus has not changed in 200 years. I wonder if any other country can make such a claim.

GC have a equivalent. Makarios Drousiotis. But we have 3 other people like him. Sevgul Uludag and Niyazi Kizilyurek and Ibrahim Aziz too. Although I don't think Ibrahim Aziz has writes down that much but he is at the centre of politics of Cyprus. He took over the work Kavazoglu was doing after he was murdered in 1965 and also had an order against him by the TMT, shoot on sight.
