This cunt must think we were born yesterday. They wait till we have a right wing President when they know he will not want unification to ask for it so he is off the hook for the collapse of the talks the Greece caused in 2017. Go fuck yourself you cunt.

The split of Cyprus

Cyprus was split in 1974 after a coup and Turkish invasion. The island is divided into two parts, with the south governed by an internationally recognized government that represents the country in the EU. The northern part remains breakaway and is recognized only by Türkiye.

Yeah sure the coup never took place. Cunt.

...there is always that fear, for Cypriots, that Greece may stumble and with their talks (alone) with Turkey they may betray 'us' in Cyprus (again), securing an Agreement good for "Greeks"; as though splitting a baby in two is a good thing.

...this is the Problem, here, in greater Palestine, in Turkey, and in the Ukraine; to name a few. Intentions count.

And yet we had 2017 where we were so close to an agreement and the current establishment with Greek and Russian support managed to collapse the talks. They are talking bullshit and have been for a very long time. I remember back in 2002 when it was decided the President of TRNC will not be going to the talks and instead the Prime Minister Talat was going to attend and at first Papadopoullos refusing to attend insisting Dengtash should attend as he could trust him to stop any agreement. In every turn either one side or the other has crashed the talks except with Talat and Akinci. They both called the GC establishments bluff and showed them up for what cunts they are. They say they want peace but never explain what they would accept. Anastasiades thought he was smart to insist the TA should leave Cyprus from Day one. Who has ever done that before first setting up the security of the new sate.

We are not children any more. I know we were when it stared but we are much older now in fact some of us are no longer here waiting for peace.

...and so it is a small stall of ''traitors'' gather through song, good coffee, and zouki decades, trafficking their Joy.

...crowds grow, and in sitting together there is no shame; for this something bigger than ''themselves''.

...indeed i am hoping for picnics where souvla can be served to thousands (because Cypriots are not few and insignificant); on our beaches eating a meze together: who would be against that?

"This" is the war here and elsewhere; if we are not one of "Them" 'We'/we fight through reason lovingly: Lest we Forget.

We now have had two chances to unite under two leaders for each side that at least pretended to want unification. Unfortunately Anastasiades and Christofias only pretended so it failed. I seriously doubt that we will have a leader on each side that actually want unification and do it in the future.

I dont care who's fault it was, or whatever story you want to make up, I am going to tell you the cold hard facts.

Cyprus is the victim of foreign aggression, occupation and colonisation and the people of Cyprus have nothing in common with the "TRNC" and vice versa.

The RoC and the "TRNC" were never unified in the first place and will never reunify.

The "TRNC" needs to be dismantled, the occupation has to end, Turkish troops need to leave the island and nearly all of the settlers would have to be given their marching orders for there to be any chance of "reunification".

These are very big and probably unrealistic expectations from the Turkish side and the RoC will not accept the risk of "reunification" for anything else.

its not about reunifying, it is about ending the illegal occupation and colonisation of the northern third of Cyprus.

Whoever is "Turk" and cant live with the "Greek" in a democratic majority Greek Orthodox EU state should go to Turkey, because you have nothing in common and from there each will have no worries what-so-ever.

...there are Cypriots on both sides of "the line". Like "They" are the same, 'we' are the same. Don't be fooled by the flawed logic that Turks are "Turks", and you are wrong if you believe all Greeks (should be) "Greeks". Despite the mythic reality, that Cypriots are insignificant as they are few, realise that if that were the case, in elections despite the unnatural divide, the assimilation and decades, they would have decided long ago that such an Identity, "being" a Cypriot, was not worth keeping.

...if you are Cypriot there is one way forward, and that is ENOSIS, to take back the word by giving it a Cypriot meaning.

...let's remember that Erdogan begs us to show ourselves; to rise up above the rank corruption of our leadership who are profiting from the adversarial positions they take, to show "Them" the change that ends their grip on our thinking, to take over our own lives: picnics on our beaches i say. (I hope that Fidias can do it for us, being young, our MEP, and so open-minded.)

...Turkish Cypriots are the vanguard, the greatest threat to "Turkishness" that Erdogan faces because they have never betrayed themselves by voting overwhelmingly for one of "Their" candidates; this is fact. More so, should they see themselves joined by Greek Cypriots against the Turkish occupation as Cypriots themselves, Hope would be the result, a big step forward against those who question Universal Principles and basic Human Rights.

...what fear does; the fear that comes with lies.

Time to overcome our fears.
