Whether bordo likes it or not, the Turkish Cypriot side always wanted anything that did not involve Cyprus becoming "Greek" or for Greek Cypriots to rule the island.

No one agrees with what they have done in Cyprus. You cant be Cypriot and separate and steal a bit of land for Turkey so you can pretend to be Cypriot. Contrasting this, Russia has stolen a bit of land from the eastern part of Ukraine were the Russian speakers are majority and has incorporated it as a part of Russia. They are now Russian and see themselves as Russian, not Ukrainian Russian.

I dont care if the Turkish Cypriots want to be a part of Turkey, I think they have this right. I dont care if they see themselves as Cypriot either, so long as they assimilate and accept history and that Cyprus is a modern democratic European member state with a native Greek Cypriot orthodox Christian majority.

On that basis, the logical conclusion if you disagree is to go to Turkey like the others did before Cyprus's independence.

Now here we are, 50 years later, with an identity and property crisis causing division and conflict. Because the Turkish Cypriots think they are a sovereign nation that can steal a bit of Cyprus and rights from the Greek Cypriots.
