I already know that enosis was an aspiration of the Greek Cypriots, from as far back as the treaty of Lausanne in 1923 not 1950.
Britains plan was to cede Cyprus to Greece and the Greeks Cypriots, who were the overwhelming majority and the native residents wanted it too.
I also know that the Turkish Cypriots reacted to this with their version which was taksim.
The point you are trying to make is that the Greek Cypriots were wrong for wanting enosis with Greece and the present situation is all their fault.
The point I am trying to make, looking at it from that moment in time, is that the Greek Cypriots had the natural right to want enosis. This was recognized by Britain too, otherwise she wouldn't have offered to cede the island to Greece in the first place. This is further proved by the international community recongizing the Greek Cypriots as the sole legitimate authority in Cyprus today.
The only thing that stopped enosis from happening was Greece not meeting Britains condition by entering the war and then The Turkish Cypriot side looking to cut a deal to give Cyprus to Turkey.
Turkey on the other hand, was a colonial power, stealing, occupying and colonizing other countries in the region and supplanting their culture and rule. Turkeys rights do not supersede the rights of other native peoples and even what we know as Turkey today is a land stolen from others, including Greece.
The Turkish Cypriots always wanted some form of colonial rule in Cyprus or to be a part of Turkey somehow.
So save me from your BS.
The Turkish Cypriot only accepted the 1960 agreements because they got a deal that was too good to be true and heavily discriminatory to the majority of the islands native population.
With or without that, all the Turkish Cypriot side has done is impede or drag Cyprus down. its obvious today for all to see as they are the unrecognized illegitimate authority of occupied Cyprus.
