The situation is very simple. Whilst Turkey recognised GRoC as RoC back in 1964, in fact the de-recognised her in back in the 80s. So how can they possible allow any transport links without recognition? This not recognising TRNC is a double edge sword indeed.

It really is not that hard; it is actually a win win. But trust Cypriots to change that to lose lose.

Yeeeeees the point is that the ROC was no longer recognised by RoT back in the early 80s which is costing the airlines and shipping a fortune being unable to use RoT facilities.

Finally, the book I have b will be in the shops Monday 31st October.

Unfortunately, it is only in Turkish at the moment, but it will be translated to English and Greek too, eventually.

This is not helping peace at all, instead it is pushing sides further apart.

What was the purpose of this, and did they achieve their objectives?

...indeed, it is a small message, that Turkey will not be able to use American made weapons in Cyprus as they did in '74 (and '63); they may meet with the Americans themselves.

Does it help Peace? Indeed, without it Peace would not even be on the table.
