...quite a list this opinion piece offers, talking Erdogan's order and his ever expanding efforts to define a Turkey for "Turks".

Indeed, Varosha, is, the Canary; which sits silent in, his, cage: will it die (read: can he kill it?)

...and what if the Canary did sing, awakened by the People in this darkness, would the light be found?

It no longer matters who does what in Cyprus, that was handed over that responsibility to the luantic called Erdogan several times.

It is far too late for anybody to do anything now. Two states it will be followed by TRNC joining Turkey.

iy is already dead before it has even began.

To ask for Varosha to be handed over and open Ercan under UN has been rejected before and it will be rejected again.

He is too old and his brain is roasted.

What he needs to do is remove all sanctions on he north, open Ercan and Famagusta to international trade and hand over Varosha back to GCs. That will work. You can then begin to work out a fair exchange of properties as well as allowing anybody who wishes to return to their properties to do so as well as compensation for not being able to use their properties for over 50 years.

So long as TCs depend on Turkey for financial aid, ei tourkia ine enan galon balloudjin mesdo golossas
BTW the financial dependence of TCs on Turkey did not start in 1974, it started in 1960. Thats how clever Makarios and the rest of GCs were. Could not see what damage it would do to the political environment in Cyprus.

''If no one in the administration is considering what Russia makes of Turkey’s free passes when it comes to invasion, occupation and threatening war, then the president’s National Security team isn’t doing its job. In a 2014 New Republic piece, David Klion argued that the best historical analogy for Russia’s invasion of Crimea was not Hitler’s “incursions into Czechoslovakia and Poland, ostensibly to liberate German-speakers in those countries,” but Turkey’s 1974 invasion of Cyprus. Klion conceded that “even this analogy may be too hard on Putin.” The State Department can pretend that its failure to hold Turkey accountable for 47+ years of occupying Cyprus has nothing to do with Russia’s behavior, but it is in fact merely pretending.''

https://www.ekathimerini.com/opinion/11 ... standards/

''Russia would surely love nothing better than the world tolerating the status quo in Donbas and Crimea while it deepens its colonialization of these regions. That is why Moscow must smile at tweets by the US ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus declaring how “pleased” she was that she and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State Erika Olson met with the intransigent, nationalist Turkish-Cypriot leader Ersin Tatar, who constantly thumbs his nose at overall US policy on the reunification of Cyprus and blatantly violated American warnings on Varosha. The Russians must have cracked jokes about a future American ambassador to Ukraine visiting the “leader” of the Donbas region with a deputy assistant secretary of state and having a “good discussion and an important and positive exchange of views.” ''

Bloomin heck RW, my brother is singing with the chorus in this clip.

How can you explain to this unfortunate excuse for a GC that There is indeed Cypriots and it is not just Greeks that were there and now the Turks are there too. So he clearly has no understanding about Cyprus what so ever.

...he has his experience, you have yours and i have mine. They are all different (so too our perspectives,) and quite unique it seems, except for the open wounds we are all suffering.

The truth, what is the truth exposed for all to see is a good start. Not just the ugly truth, leo xari, there is more to the truth than that.

...allow me to repeat myself, Cypriots exist. It is a state of mind which despite the "Greek's" and "Turk's" ambitions to define it as they please which continues to exist, even with their efforts over decades to usurp it.

...''be'' Cypriot, i say; never despair, Lordo.

Indeed, it is not the first time that the Problem, in Cyprus has been referenced as a matter of Policy in her own Sovereign affairs.

https://knews.kathimerini.com.cy/en/new ... prus-video

"(Lavrov) He said, "The only conflict where one of the parties refuses to talk to the other, and this is fully supported by the West, is the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Just look at Cyprus and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. There is a negotiation process there, mediated by the United Nations." "

...chilling, what seems so long ago, Putin in Georgia, describing his Cyprus Solution, then.
