There is 90 percent corruption and bribery in the country, Nicosia CTP deputy Ürün Solyalı says in an interview with Yeniduzen.

...a detailed analysis follows supporting his claim.

I am afraid when CTP were in government, corruption did not end then either. I can say that despite the fact that in Lordo's world we all support CTP. There is just as much corruption all over the Med from Spain all the way to Israel and everywhere else in between both north and south of the Med sea.

Erdogan's influence spreads beyond Turkey; but we know that already.

First of all Erdogan is there because he serves America well despite what he says publicly. If he was not he would not survive one day.

Secondly we had a chance to solve the problem back in 2017 and now that Drousiotis spilled the beans on how Anastasiades crapped out and collapsed the talks, the whole blame is on Anastasiades. He is a true swine and instead of serving the interest of the Cypriots like any president should he opted to serve the Interest of Russia. Till the GCs relaise this very simple fact, there will be no peace and there is no need to complain about Erdogan as it is self inflicted.

One day he will find an excuse and perhaps take the whole of Cyprus and then we would all be able to return to our properties.

It is the first time a Turkish Cypriot bearing Cypriot citizenship will be tried for exploitation of Greek Cypriot properties in the north. Kursat is married to deputy speaker of the Turkish Cypriot assembly Fazilet Ozdenefe of the left-wing Republican Turkish Party CTP.

...and on so many levels, with this corruption exposed "Turkishness" itself in Cyprus is threatened. (and for the same reason that the IPC is not a remedy; no money, those who are corrupt cannot/willnot pay the damage)

...even the "Press" speaks of this scandal as Institutional in nature, having gone on actually for far too long. Indeed, it is another reason for Cypriots living in the occupied territories to want change.

...we can hope that the Republic will act accordingly, for all Cypriots improve itself, given the same difficulty that Turkish Cypriots suffer from being unable to enjoy the use of their own property in Cyprus (proper).

...i don't think this story is going away soon. Certainly, i will be keeping my eye on it.

Civil society groups plan to demonstrate against corruption in Nicosia from 18:00 April 26. Labor unions and opposition politicians are calling for increased measures to tackle corruption and injustice. Participants will gather at Dereboyu Citroen and then march to the Parliament. It is possible that several thousand may attend, based on previous events.

Heightened security and localized transport disruptions are likely near the protest site.

RW IPC does not need money to remedy claims of GCs. It has at it's disposal 99% of TC properties in the south for which the TCs have exchanged for GC properties in the north or hand them back their properties in certain circumstances. People have used this method and succeeded. The real issue is the fact that RoC does not have such a system.

So TCs have no way of putting a claim in for their loss of properties some going back to 1963. If a person has not accepted any GC property in the north, what on earth can be the reason not to return their properties to them. And I know my little single cell brained friend will say because "WE" hold all the GC properties in the north. No we do not. I do not. I don't see what as a European citizen I should be punished for something others have done even if they are TCs themselves. This has racism in its core. This is collective punishment and it is against International law. It is time the EU has put it's own house in order and sort out these rouge despotic regimes within its own territory.

...quite an uproar, it is good to see that "it" is, along with "it's" authority, questioned.

A political crisis is unfolding in occupied Cyprus, with the possibility of early elections being proposed by the opposition Republican Turkish Party (CTP) and rejected by the ruling National Unity Party (UBP).
