it is amazing that for a community who keep saying no to peace are actually asking the TCs to deal with Turkey when they depend on them financially and only have a population of 150,000 thousand odd. When the south have over a million population and are unable to get rid of Turkey from Cyprus.

This is a classic example of an asshole having his head stuck up his arse and not knowing which way the world is turning.

I thought you blocked me, or are you just pretending that you have?

Anyway, the TC's had plenty of chances over the last 50 years to end the illegal occupation, reunite under a democratic state, end their isolation and improve their standard of living.

But they chose to cling to apartheid and expected the the GC's to fund it while continuing to hide behind the Turkish military.

You got what your communities was asking for and now your community is now well and truly fcuk'd.

There is only one thing that will drive Turkey from our shores; that is unity.

...if as Cypriots, Cypriots stand for what they want, Turkey will have everything it needs to withdraw from our political affairs.

Max, ask yourself, why the coup could not sustain itself; Greek Cypriots are not "Greek".

...lucky for us that the Junta did not "win". (I do not want to be "Greek"; i am Greek)

Indeed, Turkish Cypriots are hostages to Turkey, (like we could have been). Just like the "Greeks" whose intention was no different, ignoring the Cypriots on whose island they're fighting this proxy war, our "community" would have had the same loss. It was and is Cypriots who are paying the price for this mythic reality, torn unnaturally apart to this day.

...for a Cypriot, Enosis has a strange meaning, given the result. Enosis needs a Cypriot meaning, relevant to Cypriots. And that is done by our demonstration of unity, joining under the one flag that is rightfully ours, and on our beaches.

"your community", is not your country Max; "Greekness" has nothing to be proud of really, just remember the financial meltdown. Like "Turkishness" it is the bane to a Cypriot's existence, whether Turkish or Greek.

As a "Greek" who cannot see passed the Nationalism in that, Erdogan wins. The question is, do you want to be defined by such an (or any other) interlocutor?

...i heartily suggest you take a good look at what you are saying, lest you get what you've been asking for as well.

Turkish Cypriot unions threaten indefinite strike if protocol approved

“Politicians who were not given the power from society to sign such protocols did so in the past, but they could not implement them and their political life ended,” he said. “We would like to remind today’s politicians of this”.

The protocol was signed,

For a meager $240 million aid package, they signed away democratic rights and freedoms, strengthened the role of Islam in the occupied areas. Gave away their power production, now have higher taxes and have to work longer before retiring. Further to that, they have given Turkey even more say in the bureaucracy that is known as the "government". Basically, Turkey has annexed the north in all but name.

There doesn't seem much the TC can do now either. This is the culmination of many many bad choices over the years. On the one hand, they have rogue regressive and oppressive Turkey. On the other hand, they had freedom and democracy in an EU member state with a higher GDP per capita. They kept choosing the former option while trying to oppress the latter in to accepting unacceptable "solutions".

Unless the TC's wake up and fight back, this event is the flash point of their extinction.

But I think it is too late, they got what they were bargaining for and this is the end of their sham "nation".

The moral of the story is; be careful what you wish for, and Do on to others as you would have others do on to you.

...the "they" you talk about Max, let's not forget are the other half, not "TC", as you say; but the "Turks" (who do not recognise a "TC's" existence, just like they do not recognise the "GC's" existence).

Unless the TC's wake up and fight back, this event is the flash point of their extinction.

...i agree. Will you join them? Will you join them in ending this and these "sham "nation"(s)"?

Honestly, I dont fully follow what you are talking about.

The TC's have had plenty of opportunities to reunite with the GC under a democratic state, free from occupation. Obviously for the TC's this isn't the end goal.

The GC's have dodged plenty opportunities to cede political control of the RoC to the TC and by extension Turkey. Without an iotas change on the ground. Obviously for the GC's this is not a viable option.

Now the TC's are in the shit and this is going to lead to their eventual extinction.

Quite frankly, the inter-communal politics is absolute dog shit. The TC want this dog shit from colonial days, so they are getting dog shit colonial days ahead from Turkey.

The old dog shit has to die to make way for the better and new.

Sometime, people make things more complicated than they need to be.

...who is the "them" in your life, Max; TCs or "Turks"?

You must decide like any Cypriot who the "Greeks" and "Turks" are, or are you one of "Them"?

...so be it, if you cannot recognise a Cypriot, as though they don't exist, Cyprus in affect does not exist in your mind, (just the ''Greek'' part) you have accepted "Their" definition of you.

...again i will ask you if you would join with other Cypriots under your/our flag eating souvla on the beaches?

...i ask, is there a better way to fight "Them"?

I thought it was clear who and what I was referring to.

Read again if you are unsure.

...again, as Cypriots, i suggest that TCs and GCs have a common enemy. (And to fight we must fight together, to survive.)

Whoever we may be as Persons (the failures as such), as Individuals it is time for 'Us' (the half not "Them") to demonstrate the values that represent us.

Maybe you don't get the idea of "Greeks" exploiting us as Greeks; they were in affect not as successful as the "Turks" (who like the "Greeks" want/wanted it all).

Maybe you don't get the idea that Cypriots torn in two, any of us, get no representation as CYPRIOT, the "Greekness" or the "Turkishness" coming first; of our being as Human if not completely ignored, (our Basic Right) taking second place.

...you avoid my question, would you march if it came to that, would you eat a good souvla together on the beach, for Cyprus?
