Now, there is also 1 Cypriot guy who actually lives in the RoC and commutes to work for his 4 day cycle and then commutes back and there are actually so many Cypriot Pilots who can walk into TA because they have the contacts with the Greek Contingent from Olympic.

So many great pilots and nice people over there now, who are good friends of mine as well.

Nepotism is everywhere. Whether you like it or not. it's the way things work all over the world. if you got mates in influential places, you will get a job.

It's the same at QATAR, Emirates, TA, British Airways and QANTAS.

Even senior Flight operations Inspectors are poached from the Government (regulator) by the Airlines. We employ 2 of them on packages that make your eyes water and whenever we are audited by the regulator, it's these guys that need to start earning their money. It's enough to at least raise an eyebrow.

So Cyprus isn't really all that different you know.

Ssssshhhhhh, don't let B25 hear this. He'll line the lot of'em up against the wall and shoot them dead. :o :o :o :o :o

Me too. But aren't you the numero UNO who never misses a chance to talk nonsense about Cyprus? :D
What hit you now to have a 180 degree turn?

@ RH and Mr from NG. You have many misconceptions. But I am too late in this topic to clear them up.
Some other time perhaps. Just a tiny bit: Half the Govnt jobs are for teachers. If you can find me just one teacher who got the job because of a "koumbaro", then I will be here to cut my throat.

Pyrpolizer, if this comes from you and you know it to be true then I will not dispute it. If there is anyone I can trust to state facts on the forum it is you. Thank you for pointing this out.

Nice. It's actually a very heavy aircraft when hand flown.

Assymetrics on the B737 are also quite a challenge when practicing V Cuts - assymetrics with Engine Failure just after lift off.

It's a east of an aircraft and a real joy as well.

Probably one of the best planes ever built if not the best.

No I am not the numero uno.

I have spoken about Cypriot banks because the amount of regulation they claim to be under IS a real impediment especially to us guys overseas, and it is the most frustrating things to deal with. but it could be worse. They could take away our money and they have never done that.

I have no doubt Cyprus has nepotism everywhere and being a small island is another factor that makes neptosm worse.

But, nepotism does exist everywhere, even in the Aviation Industry and the corporate world and it can be very blatant and obvious at times.

For instance, some examples, people from Geelong Grammar and other schools like it have their alumni graduates anointed as the chosen ones, a bit like Eton and the UK. If you know people or have family connections, is another way.

It happens everywhere, and Aviation has always been like it too from the days of the Wright Brothers in the USA till today.

Did you have another go?

After about 2 hours you would have pulled your first B737 landing successfully. It's a very easy aircraft. It's all about the right configuration and flying the right numbers.
