...well said, Sotos.

...who am i?

Certainly not "Greek". And for certain, not "Turk". Yet when i speak it is as though what i propose never existed, and doesn't exist, or can never exist; who i am is dismissed from the conversation, effectively ignored by a debate which affectively makes Greeks, "Greeks", and all Turks, "Turks".

...the myth is easy to understand, "Greek" bad/"Turk" good, or, the other way around, but reality includes people like me, Cypriots who remain, Cypriot.

(and 'we' represent, despite the decades of being unnaturally torn apart, about half the population, any way you count it)

Indeed, something as simple as a flag divides us, and it is as simple to unite under a flag.

...indeed i ask, who treats the Flag of Cyprus as a rag; ask yourselves.

I can see a day when vast majority of TC's will say fuck the GC's, they'll never accept us as Cypriots so we might as well become real Turks. Let the north be an annexe of Turkey. This is where we're heading with this problem.

We are currently on opposite sides at a cease fire of a war, with a 3rd of Cyprus under occupation. What did you expect? For the hostility to end, the cause of the hostility should end first. It can not be any other way.

What you are referring to is a non-issue. The reason TCs do not agree to a solution is not because GCs do not accept them as Cypriots, but because some of their demands, such as 50%-50% power sharing, all Settlers to stay, and Turkish guarantees, are not accepted.

I wonder if our interpretation of "the cause of the hostility" is the same?

I had a shop in north London back in the days of Nokia 101 and Ericsson 388. It was a busy shop dealing in Sky TV and satellites for Turks and Greeks. My little Ericsson went missing so I kept calling it. In the end I got an answer. I explained he would probably get 50 quid from another shop dealing in stolen goods, I offered him double. He asked for £200.00. I had no choice but to agree. I had all my contacts in that little phone so I had no choice. We arranged a place to meet, I had to promise I would go alone and would not not contact the police (not that those useless bastards would have been much help) and would give him crispy £50.00 notes. I did exactly that, even shook his hand and went back to my shop happy as though I had won the lottery.

Make of my story what you will

Do you think the GC's should pay double to get their stolen property back, shake hands and then everyone can go their separate ways?

That is worth considering, by way of a gas pipeline to Turkey and a special tariff for a certain amount of time or for a certain amount.

Enough to help cover the cost of vacating the north of military and inhabitants, as well as Cyprus's EEZ and to stay out.

No, not necessarily. I told my story short but on that day I went through so many emotions. The thieving bastard wouldn't answer at first. I was praying he'd answer and I could trick him to meet me. I was planing on getting some of my heavy mates to follow me and beat the shit out of him. I was even planning on forcing him to take me to his home so that I could steal all his possessions.

But of course in time I thought the better of it and said fuck it. I was stupid enough to give the thieving rat the opportunity to fuck me and fuck me he did. I'm not saying pay double, I'm not saying anything. You decide how you want to proceed with the problem. If you ask my opinion on how you're doing so far? I'd put my hand on heart and say.......lousy.

Well that's what I made of your story,

That's the only like for like correlation.

The best solution, according to you, is to pay Turkey so Cyprus can get her property back. Then everyone can go their separate ways.

When really, Turkey and the TC are deserving of the shit being beaten out of them but fck it. The GC's were stupid enough to give them the opportunity to fck them over and fck them over they did.

Basically, they are doing lousy right? Shouldn't be trusted right? The thieving barstrds, right?

This IS what you are saying.

I won't comment further on this until you answer this. Have you been to the north lately? If so have you visited the whole island?

I dont see how this is relevant.

But I have related your story and what you thought and did, with the Cyprus problem, in a like for like correlation.

I wouldn't have asked if it wasn't relative.

why do you find it so hard to say whether you have visited the north or not. if you have not, it would be good to hear your reason. do you have a fear or do you just object to going there.
