I'm old and wise enough to see the cunt being hostile. Why would he make eye contact with most people and even welcome them to Cyprus and gently slide their passport to them and when it comes to me he fucking bangs the passports with force on the counter. Why do you guys have problems facing facts?
Kicks, I only have my British passport. I have travelled a great deal in my time and continue to do so. My experience going through RoC passport control has always been unpleasant. I'm man enough to criticise them and praise them when needed. I travelled with my elderly parents in August and my father required wheelchair. The young man handling the chair was very sympathetic and respectful to the whole group, he knew we were Cypriots and had a long chat with my dad in Greek. He was a true gentleman and he got himself a well deserved tip. As for passport control officers? They are all CUNTS.
That's not hostile.
You should be very happy with that. If you want hostile, go to USA, Australia, Canada and New Zealand and see what hostile really means.
The authorities there are a law unto themselves. can't criticize as they are entrusted by the Government to keep us safe and are an integral part of our security.
But try and pull one over in the USA, Australia, Canada or NZ and see what arrogant and hostile actually mean.
I been to so many countries and I can't say Border Controls are the most friendly or cuddly bunch anywhere. UAE, the guy wouldn't even make eye contact and just arrogantly made us stand in front of a machine to scan the retina of our eyes. A retina is like a finger print apparently.
You don't get that in Cyprus. All you get is an individual that hates their job look through your passport and stamp it. Be very glad and grateful.
I must say I never really wanted or expected many pleasantries at the border. i know enough to just want to get the process over with as soon as possible so I can get going and sometimes the process in Australia isn't a quick one because the lines can take hours to process sometimes because they are opening everyone's bags. The last thing you want after a 20 hour flight. and by the end of it all, the Officers can get very cranky with everyone because they are having a bad day. It isn't a nice experience but you are a fool to provoke them.
I mean look at it this way. A third of the island is under occupation illegally. You are a porous border and have all kinds of illegal activities going on from drugs and being a safe haven to Islamic State potential terrorists. You are lucky you are not getting a lot worse treatment. Having no eye contact is absolutely wonderful whenever you go to the US, or countries like that because when they decide to get heavy handed because they don't like the look of you then you know it isn't going to be nice. The only thing you can do is smile and small talk them and not appear nervous because these officers are trained to spot a nervous traveler a mile away.
