Brisbane is the same as well.

Shut up… because the last time you made such claims Australia went from 100 dead to 1000 dead in the space of like two months!

Oh and if you want to talk about death, we get more than 3000 deaths per year from influenza. This year hardly none from influenza but we have 800 from COVID so we are still well in front.

We have had the record lowest ever influenza season because of social distancing, hygiene regimens in stricter rules on disinfecting everything.

Our biggest problem now is the fact we are in deep recession. Biggest recession since the Great Depression.

How predictable of you Paphitis to try to downplay the thousand-fold spike with irrelevant comparisons…

You mean 10 fold. But you are forgetting we are at a very low base in cases per million. Among the lowest in the world and we still are.

We are like getting 10 new cases a day in Sydney with a population of 5.6 million and about 10 new cases in Melbourne in a city of 5.3 million. Rest of the country is at zero except for Brisbane which was zero and had something like 1 or 2 new cases in the last 2 days.

Canberra, Darwin, Perth, Hobart and Adelaide are at zero.

Melbourne had a leak of 700 cases per day a month ago and is now close enough to single digits and has less cases than Cyprus. Basically, we have done what South Korea has done but our response wasn’t for the faint at heart. It was actually quite brutal.

And all our dead are people mostly 80 and above who had other conditions and even terminal conditions.

A few in their 70s. Youngest was in their 60s

I had contemplated more than once moving to tranquil Hobart over the years, until that psychotic idiot screwed the place up. :?

What psychotic idiot?

Hobart is one of the most beautiful places in the world. Adelaide is better though as it’s bigger.

Melbourne is a great city. Not so great atm but it will come back in a month or so and remain a wonderful city. All our cities are great. Sydney and Brisbane too but they are too LAesque for me.

If things continue improving, I’ll be back in Brisbane mostly.

My favourite cities are Adelaide, Melbourne then Hobart.

Perth is like Brisbane and Sydney. Very LA esque

But why Brisbane? I really don’t like it that much.

The State of Queensland however is a different story. Gold Coast, Noosa, whitsundays etc

Sydney is better than Brisbane. Melbourne even more better. Adelaide you have done well and truly since you lived here.

Yes you are free to use my pad in either Brisbane or Adelaide. You have a very big problem though. Australia will not let in any tourists or foreigners. Only diplomats, military, government, sports teams, and permanent residents and citizens. It’s the hardest country to get in to apart from North Korea.

If you manage to get in it would be a miracle.

Oh and atm it’s deporting thousands of people. Especially the Chinese. Not a good country to be in if you are a Chinese citizen right now.

Even permanent residents who came were turned back on the next flight after they were told their visas were cancelled. Even academics that worked at Australian universities.

2 academics were about to be arrested as well on espionage but were given the option to leave.

I wouldn’t advise anyone to come to Australia right now for any trivial reason.

Our airports are full of police, and border force and they will check every piece of paper you have. They won’t let anyone in.

And they don’t have a sense of humour either. You could get banged from ever setting foot in Australia as well because you ignored their travel advices.

Plus they will do temperature and COVID tests. If they do let you in, you won’t be seeing any sun for 14 days. They will send you to quarantine.

And if you must come, I would advise going to an Australian Embassy and apply. But don’t take it personally if you are denied. There are very few reasons they would make allowances and let you come.
