The Tories had requested an appearance for Johnson on this Sunday's Andrew Marr show. The BBC is reported to have said they do not get to pick and chose which shows they go on and that if and until Johnson agrees a date for his Neil interview then no he can not appear on the Marr show.
Personally I think they should have said yes please do come on the Marr show on Sunday and then once he was miced up and seated explain that Marr had a last minute family emergency and they brought in a replacement, at which point Neil walks in and sits down
No doubt the Tories will now start threatening the BBC with consequences should they gain power, as they have done to C4.
