straight away, i see a problem with taking money from some business's to fund other "business's" that will operate on a "free" model.

How, I asked.

Well apparently, they are going to raise taxes on some business's, nationalise some others and then give their services away for free.

Is that right?

Depends who's story, narrative, myths you want to believe I would say.

Does ANY government anywhere spend anything other than 'other peoples money' ? Do the Conservatives spend only their own money when in power ? Seems a pretty pejorative description to me ?

They will substantially increase borrowing, hoping to use that borrowed money to invest in economically productive activities. Is that 'Keynesian' ? They will tax large corporations more. They will tax oil and gas industry a 'special levy' based on the notion that the UK has historically taxed the companies extracting our north sea oil reserves at lower rates than other nations with such reserves (Norway, Nederlands) and use the money raised from that (11bn I think) to fund the transfer of the 36,000 currently employed in that industry to 'green energy' economy job. They will tax thoes earning over £80,000 a year a bit more and those earning over £125,000 a bit more again. They will seek to close tax avoidance loopholes. I think this is all true to the best of my knowledge. You can read all this on the real labour party website https://labour.org.uk/manifesto/ but not on the website labourmanifesto.co.uk that the Tories bought and then according to reports paid google to place at the top of searches for 'labour manifesto'.

don't be stupid, in 2017 people said labour could not win they were 25% behind with labour mps in turmoil.
and they removed the tory majority when they claimed they were going to get 100 majority.

they were planning to give
6 billion to corporations
9 billion to people earning more than 50k
5 billion to bt to expand fast fibre broadband.

it will all come out in the wash.

Thanks for that link and the summary Erolz.

I get it, all governments spend money from taxing people. They all spend other peoples money.

But that is the point inst it.

Labour is gonna tax some people more to find this 82 billion pounds just to give it to someone else.

Yes they are. That is what happens already, it is just a matter of who its taken from and who its given to. Like the charity status of public schools, takes money from all including the lowest percentiles of the populations and gives it to a percentile from the highest to the middle or to the 25 mark. Labour are going to seek to distribute wealth less unevenly than has been the case under the previous 10 years of tory and tory/lib dem rule. That is a narrative (story, myth) that I personally support.

Its simple, take from the top, give to the bottom.

But there will always be an uneven distribution of wealth.

no matter what you do, until you do something that makes the wealth go away for everyone..

Sure - it is all a matter of degrees. I personally like where Labour are aiming for on the spectrum of degrees more than Tories. I prefer the Labour's narrative, story, myth.

Take more from the top than the Tories do currently / plan to do going forward, give more to the bottom. Would get my vote if I had one any more.

Tax the Top too much and they are gonskis too, and so are all the jobs.

The Top always find a way which is why there is no better thing than managing the countries finances responsibly and borrowing and taxing sustainably in order to not bankrupt the country.

This is why 42% are now voting Tories! That is why, millions of working class will now vote for the Tories and why they have abandoned Labor.

The entire world is on a pathway to reduce corporations and business tax. There is simply no other choice. Developed countries like the UK, EU members, USA, Canada and Australia must compete with low tax regimes around the world which is why these taxes are being cut to attract business and investment. it's also proven that the Government Tax take is higher because of the added activity and employment.. Plus a drastic reduction in social services and welfare.
