He has lost the plot!

Varoufakis - now in the dustbin where he belongs. Such shame asI had such high hopes but ill founded obviously.

Looks like Tsipras did one good thing in his term.

Tsipras did his country a great disservice! Had he listened to Varoufakis instead of allowing himself to be manoeuvred by the IMF and the ECB, Greece could have avoided the debt and deprivation on its people. Getting bullied by the Troika thanks to Tsipras made their situation even more dire.

Varoufakis wanted to revert to the Drachma and pull out of the Eurozone. For very obvious reasons the Banks (IMF/ECB) could not tolerate that. The result for Greece was just more irredeemable debt!

BTW: Varoufakis is also a proponent of MMT!

finally we have what we have been waiting for. What a breath of fresh air it is too. labour will introduce a unitary tax system for the corporations so they will not be able to shift their rofits to tax havens. Now thats what I call a result. finally the dethatcherisation of our country will begin. it has been a long time coming.

it really is not true. germans wanted their loans to non goovernment organanisations to be taken up by the government and varufakis said no and he had no intention of changing it and challenged the eu. the had the eu by the short and curies and they did not rest till they removed him. so much for democracy. so what if they came out to the drahma? would it make it any worse than it is now, i suspect not but at least they would not have the debt they ended up with.

having said that, there is a huge issue with tax evation and early retirement which greece could simply not afford. varufakis had his finger on the solution that would have sorted out griiiis's problems in less than 10 years. instead of being in this situation for ever. when you get in to this level of debt it is impossible to get out of it.

Polling suggests Boris Johnson is set to win a 64 seat majority as Brexit Party support 'squeezed'

Boris Johnson is on course for a 64-seat majority having successfully “squeezed” the Brexit party, new analysis claims.

The Conservatives are currently polling at 42.8 per cent support, which looks set to deliver the party 357 seats.

The poll of polls by Electoral Calculus found that the election seems to be split down Leave and Remain lines, taking in research from five different surveys from Nov 14 to 19, polling over 7,500 people.

Ooops!

One should never .......... until the fat lady sings of course.

I’m inherently suspicious of polls. I’m not sure comparisons with 2017 are particularly appropriate either. May was totally inept. Corbyn was the new “kid” on the block. Labour promised to honour the referendum result. There are a number of significantly different factors this time around.

Not something you have ever felt any need to point out in response to CG predictions or Paphitis' relentless predictions then ? ;)

I never had a problem with Varoufakis during the crisis and even supported his entire stance on GREXIT and sticking it up to the criminal EU.

But, it appears he has sold out and is now a supporter of these criminals and is also anti BREXIT.
'
His is now playing politics and in support of remain, so he has lost my respect completely.

He is now sleeping with all the criminals that loaded Greece up with astonishing debt.
