I just used Cyprus as an example to prove to you that a trade deficit does not translate into Government debt. I explained to you that the majority of trade occurs from business and individual consumers.

If it did translate into debt, Cyprus Government debt will increase by 5 to 6 billion Euros per year. That is not sustainable at all.

What translates into debt is when the Government spends more than it raises in tax and other income.

What I find stunning is I say explicitly 'For the record I think Cypriot culture is strong,' and he then quotes that very statement of mine and then claims I stated "Preserving culture is futile he [me] states, especially the weak and insignificant ones like the Cypriot Culture". It is just beyond absurd from where I am sitting. His claim as to what I have said about Cypriot culture specifically are the exact opposite of what I actually said and he himself quoted.

Yep that's Paphitis. He likes to jump to his own concussions and add up things out of thin air.

BTW, I stand by everything I have said. The EU project is about dissolving Nation States. In decades to come, whilst the UK will be going from strength to strength, places like Cyprus, Greece and Italy will become less Italian, less Greek, and less Cypriot and more bastardized.

And do not ever think you will be like the USA, Canada, Australia or the UK. You see they choose their immigrants. You won't be choosing. You will get the refugees and the rest will be history for you unless you wake yp and fight back like the UK and Hungary are.

I did not even say "preserving culture is futile" - what I actually said was "If a culture is so weak it can only survive via laws and isolation and borders and other forced means, that try and keep it in some idealised static state, then it is in trouble anyway and such means will always fail in the medium and long term in any case."

Is an apology not in order ?
