The policy of importing anything which is cheaper from abroad, is what made Trump impose heavy import tariffs on the first place.
Do you think your economy is so elastic that can divert those 50,000 farmers to more productive activities?
Do you think those more productive activities will increase your exports to offset the increase in imports?
What are those more productive activities that would increase your exports on the first place?

It looks your own Brexit with no deal Government doesn't agree with you, and they already announced that local production of meat will be protected with tariffs.

We haven't left yet so we'll have to see...

But would you not agree that it makes more sense to buy stuff that can be produced cheaper abroad than you can make it in the EU...?

Or do you think that poor people should contribute to the £13B to the EU and then pay more than necessary for their food to subsidise wealthy land owners...?

BTW, it is a very simple question...

If it was possible for you to go to Paps or Alpha Mega and buy Lamb for your souvla from outside the EU that was much cheaper than 'EU' lamb do you think that would be a good thing or a bad thing for Cypriots - especially poor Cypriots...?

forget about souvla.

here is a serious question. when parliament opened on wednesday cox came out all guns blazing and on the attack. he must be a brave man. he claimed that there was no law broken and perfectly good advice to prorogue.

so perhaps the brave assholes here can explain why this braveheart refused to sign a written statement for the scottish court when asked regarding the reason for the proroguing. he was asked again during the supreme court hearing too. all his lawyer said was the court has all the written statements it is going to get. so brave shitting brick from a simple statement he had to make make which was legal.

asshole is what he is and so are his supporters.

now this i totally agree with.

However, a decision was put off until a further meeting next Monday, amid concerns that 21 former Conservatives would not back it until Johnson had been given a chance to strike a deal with the EU at the 17 October summit.

you see the tories who have been kicked out of the party want him to have a chance to go to eu and try to get a deal. do you suppose they genuinly care or they want to humiliate him as they now he has more chance of winning the lottery rather than getting a deal without a backstop.

so as i said countless times before the crunch is on the 19th of october. they manchild's world will come crumbling down on his head.

this is very interesting development. a right wing reporter believes there should be riots by brexiteers. good old brendon. surely he should be done for incitement.

We actually do have that option. I once bought NZ lamb-deep frozen for unknown years, shit half of it was fat. We threw in the dustbin.
When I was conscript (a long time before joining the EU) that's what they were feeding us, and it was not only disgusting, but also like rubber. I was only eating the potatoes and bread. Those of us that were eating it, developed breasts and it was big news at the time :!:

I always buy FRESH local lamb, or FRESH lamb imported from Greece or Bulgaria which is slightly cheaper than the local.
Is there anything better than FRESH food CG?
FCS don't kill your food production if you get out of the EU.

Sometimes I buy those "Chicita" bananas they import, they all smell chemicals. No, better wait for Paphos to deliver their seasonal, smaller but healthier bananas.

Btw if we were out of the EU only a crazy Minister would do such a thing to Cypriot farmers, letting imported lamb kill our own production.
It's primary wealth, it contributes to all other sectors of the economy, it feeds people, it makes us self sufficient in food supply and safe in case of war. Besides we don't know how to shift to more productive activities. Do you in the UK?

its ok folks. it will be allright on the night. they are about to make a concrete proposal next week. is fast curing or normal cement being used. i wonder why they will not say what it is. do you suppose they will ask people to vote for without knowing what it is like last time.

how can they give information to the eu to look at but we are not allowed to know what it is
