Im still waiting to hear how his accountant manages to do that!! As a UK qualified ACCA I'm intrigued to know how this is " cooked" and believe me when it came to " cooking" I was a ...top chef !!
By the way if you borrow money from a bank or from any other source you debit Loan account and credit the loan provider , any interest on the loan is then credited to the Loan provider and debited to Interest Payable which then is shown on the P&L account as an expense which is tax deductible.

I qualified in 1971, age 25. Originally I wanted to study law or medicine, however both of these options precluded my desire to earn dosh by working. I never liked accountancy, somehow I considered accountants as rather boring and petty.
My first job was with a subsidiary company of UDT( United Dominion Trust). Within a year I had discovered that the GM of this subsidiary motor trade company in collusion with the then accountant was defrauding the company. Cut a long story short the GM was fired. A call came from the MD of UDT offering me the job of General manager, my salary would then go up to £6000 pa, this was in 1972, good dosh and also 3% ot TP ( Trading Profit)
I allready had a company car but as a GM I could give my self any car that I cared for !!
That was effectively the end of my Accountancy career . Boy did I invent some wonderful recepies to push TP ....sky high !!
By the way as s GM I met Ilias of Ilia hotel, who was also in the motor trade. A good man and a terrific business man.

Our next bottle of Cabernet is long overdue. Do you still fish on the pier there? What’s happened to your diary? I used to enjoy that. :(

Yes mate, Every morning on the peer, my second home !! We must a share a bottle soon.
I shall bring my " diary" back to life soon, getting rather bored with all the Brexshit posts, repetitive and mostly void of substance. On the peer Im known as the King of Fishing, even the cats think so !!

I wasn't aware that you can classify a debt as an expense I thought a debt was a liability!!

Yes you clearly are not a very good accountant.

My accountant is always instructing me to take on more debt. In fact he thinks I still haven't got enough debt as my leverage is very low and my income is high and I get kaned with a high tax burden.

Sticks to the pots and pans Yero!
