Yet CAE Oxford themselves and alone offer no such course. Nor do they list it on their website as something they offer. So why not just say 'I have a degree in aviation from Swinbourne' ? Why say it is from CAE Oxford when it is not and then try and make out that CAE Oxford is, or under challenge was, somehow associated with Oxford university ?

Oh yes they do!

they have been offering ATPL courses since 1961. They also do Airline IOE training and type endorsements for most airlines.

It's CAE Oxford that run everything and have the qualified instructors to run ATPLs.

Swinburne does not have the ability to run an ATPL. About 80% of all the units are run by CAE - Aerodynamics, Met, Nav, Flight Planning, CRM and so on. Swinburne run things like Instructional Psychology, Maths (Surveying Maths actually), and a couple of Arts electives which are now compulsory.

The first 10 hours of flying I did was with CAE as well at Tamworth doing aerobatics in a Cap10

This is somewhat unfair. It is very possible degrees existed back then that don't now.

I graduated with my first degree in 1984. I tried to look it up recently (as I needed transcripts of the courses I did), and it does not exist anymore, in fact the University changed names and hands. So it is possible that degrees can come and go.

When I tried to get confirmation recently from my old college that I attended there and did my A levels, they couldn't even find me in the system!!!!

So Paphiti could be correct in what he is saying, you are just rubbishing him to score some brownie points.

I also have 3 certificates from the ANSETT Sim Centre which is in competition to CAE. In fact they have been trying to take over the ANSETT Sim centre in Melbourne for a long time.

ANSETT sim centre was the sim training facility for ANSETT Airlines in Australia which went bankrupt 20 or more years ago. the sim centre survived because other airlines were using it at 7000 per hour on one of their simulators, and hence was a profitable arm of the airline which survived and was sold off.

The first time I met Boomers was when he picked me up from the ANSETT Sim center after I finish a session and we went to Fitzroy to a fancy bar and had some drinks. UMIT was with us too. :D

Yes, CAE did also have a collaboration with Oxford in the pass through the Oxford Aviation Academy. CAE is in fact a big institution and the next big one is ANSETT. These 2 are the most highly regarded.

Having an airline transport pilot licence (ATPL) is not the same things as having a degree in aviation. You claimed to have a degree in aviation from CAE Oxford and then went on to claim this is the SAME institution as Oxford university. That is like someone who has gained a HGV license from a company with Oxford in it's name claiming they have a degree in automotive engineering, from the same institution as Oxford University, as far as I can understand you.

If he has a degree in aviation from CAE Oxford then all he needs to do is paste a scan of it here. In the absence of such evidence I do not personally think it is unfair to question that , based on the evidence I have found in just 30 mins of research, that so far indicate that no such thing even exists. Let alone that is was awarded by an institution that is the same as Oxford university.

It is actually.

Swinburne who offer the degree is based on completing the units for the regulators CPL and ATPL. That gets you the degree.

The university to legitimize the degree thrown in some extras which they actually run such as Maths, Instructional Psychology, some Arts electives and so on. All the rest is basically an integrated course run by CAE for the ATPL and if you do it under this umbrella you get the degree.

I also believe that Oxford still has a relationship with CAE to this day but I could be mistaken. They offer the same degree as Swinburne under the CAE umbrella.

Provide some evidence that your claim is true, other than just repeating it and there is a good chance I will accept the truth of it. In the absence of any such evidence I still call BS.

Why don't you post your driver's licence here!

Don't be stupid. I can't do that. I'm not going to give out my identity to you.

But quite happy to let either Boomerang see it or Londonrake and you can take there word for it.

Just sounds like nonsense to me from where I am sitting. It seems you are claiming that because gaining ATPL is part of a given degree course in aviation from Swinburne that therefore anyone who gains a ATPL has a 'degree in aviation'. Like I say just sound like nonsense to me. A pilots licensee is a pilots license. A degree in aviation is a degree in aviation. If they were the same singular thing then they would be described by the same singular classification.
