There is no such Science. They are guessing and they are taking the worst case scenarios and making a LOT of assumptions in their calculations which will inevitably be incorrect.
And on top of it all, they are one sided because they did not mention the savings of 39 Billion in years 1 and the 8.9 Billion in savings per year for 15 years and other incidentals which are a burden on the taxpayer such as immigrants using NHS.
Listen mate. I am a scientist (aviator) so I am pretty damn ok with Maths and Physics and Meteorology and other things like that. If I could actually study that type of Science, I would give up aviation, go to Wall Street and become a Billionaire by trading the markets for a living. Unfortunately, I don't know any of that and pretty much don't have a clue about it and have to fly for a living and be away from my family a bit. Even those who studied this science and call themselves experts get it wildly wrong.
Just like Meteorologists. If you call yourself a Meteorologist you still can't predict the weather in the future. That is the fact! So many times you read their forecasts, and TAFS, and you arrive at the destination and all hell breaks loose with thunderstorms, icing, low visibility, and you can't get in and are low on fuel because the fools stuffed it up and so on.
Keep the tip for yourself Paphitis.
You actually possess a skill which among other things uses ready on the plate scientific knowledge.
You are in no way a scientist since in your profession you are not even allowed to (try) prove anything through an experiment.
As for how good you are on Maths, yes you are very good in getting the wrong answer as we've seen in your previous post. The GDP per capita is BY DEFINITION an annual term- Do a mistake on that and your result is trash.
I have spent a lifetime studying my craft Pyro and we experiment all the time in our careers. Especially when things go wrong. Like for instance when you land a plan in the Hudson. That's an experiment. Or when you are forced to ditch (Ive never had to do one in my career thankfully but I came close in the Indian Ocean about 25 years ago - within 300Feet in a microburst).
You are making a claim that in 15 years the British GDP will be 139 Billion lower. You are mnot telling us all the assumptions that have been used. For instance, they are presuming no FTD for 15 years. Surely, that is impossible.
I do know what they are saying but this cost on GDP isn't 139 Billion each year. They are saying that the British GDP will be lower by about 139 Billion in 15 years. Plus, the argument is a one way street. They are not factoring in a FTD with the EU at any point.
BTW, I have a degree in Aviation from CAE Oxford that calls me a Scientist. The very same institution as Oxford University in the UK and I also have a Masters Degree in Human Factors, Aeromedicine and Crew Resource Management.
Its a BA in Applied Science and Physics majoring in Aviation.
When you do your ATPL exams, its basically 80% science and engineering - Aerodynamics, Aircraft Systems, navigation, Flight Planning, Atmospheric Physics, Meteorology, Human Factors, Crew Resource Management, Crew Systems Management, Maths, and so on.
meteorologists are also scientists but they are never expert enough to predict the weather correctly all the time, and the science you are referring to that went into the above figures is even worse because they are guessing what will happen in 15 years time.
Aviation is also a Science with a bit of engineering thrown in as well.
it's what you have called Science which isn't a science.
