Indeed, he with Maria Farantouri with Livaneli actually changed the political environment between greece and Turkey though Music. Indeed there is quite a few people who are musicians but actually influencing life outside of Music.
Although I understand from others that towards latter years of his life he moved a little to the right politically. But Music has always been great.
