That's not true. Under WTO terms, there is provision for Britain and the EU to trade for a minimum of 2 years under the current terms after BREXIT and the EU can keep extending these arrangements to up to 10 years until they pen a Free Trade Deal. Eventually, within the 10 year period, Britain will have the same terms as Norway and Switzerland which are not EU members. These terms that Norway and Switzerland have are pretty much the same exactly trade terms as any other EU state. The EU can't and will not differentiate between Britain and Norway/Switzerland.

The idea that trade can not continue under the current terms is just fear mongering.

the same is occurring with EU citizens that live in the UK right now. Fear mongers are saying they won't be able to stay, and they are also saying EU citizens will not be allowed to stay permanently in the UK. That isn't true at all. Those already in the UK can stay and EU citizens wanting to migrate to the UK will have to follow a process of application.

My understanding is that Britain wants to introduce the Australian points model of migration. In other words, migrants apply to come if they meet certain criteria. And this is the types of things Britain can do outside of the EU. The EU will not be able to dictate who can come and who can stay in the EU. And I am sorry to stay but The Australian immigration System is the best in world. Way better than the EU. It is a system that ensures that Australia prospers by bringing in people who will contribute to our society as qualified professionals or if they are wealthy. Yes you can legitimately buy yourself a spot too. Especially of you are a tycoon and wanting to set up enterprises and so on.

BBC is not a credible source when it comes to BREXIT. I live in Australia and let me explain how the MSM media works in Australia, Britain and USA. Legacy news sources like the BBC, Channel 4 and CNN are agenda driven against BREXIT.

There have been links posted here by Cyprusgrump which explain the WTO terms. It clearly stipulates that even under a no deal, the EU and Britain will still trade under the present conditions.

There is a lot of BREXIT derangement syndrome and much hysteria and a very organized scare campaign. You need to watch where you get your information from. Just because it comes from the BBC doesn’t mean it is true.

Plus you got to think about this very rationally and logically. There are Billions at stake here and the EU are not going to risk a recession by creating adverse trade conditions with the 5th largest economy.

Britain will trade with the EU like it does now. People will still come and go and the sky will not fall in.

This allows minimization to any disruption and allows all parties the time to be able to negotiate a FTD.

in that case it's quite logical to have an interim period from 2-10 years of zero or lower tariffs (as is the case of every country that applies to join the EU.
