When people ask 'do you have family?' 99.9999999% of the people understand that to mean, an immediate family, wife and kids. But, oh no, Erolz jumps on his high horse and says its an idiotic question. FFS, all people have a family whether they know them or not, but the question was a legitimate one. Why can'y you just answer the F question?

Are you trying to argue that my mother is not 'immediate family' ? My father ? My Brother ? My nieces and nephews.

Paphitis simply asked the wrong question first. As soon as he corrected that I did just answer that question immediately and plainly. That he appears clinically unable to accept that he made a mistake, he asked the wrong question, is down to him and his problem not mine.

Any normal person asked 'do you have family' would respond with 'what do you mean', do you mean do I have kids ? Do you mean do I have a mother and father ? Do I have a mother and father that are still living ? Do I have siblings ? Do I have siblings that are alive ? Do I have niece's and nephew's.

That I chose to answer with 'sarcasm' to this stupid question rather than ask the above, in order to highlight how stupid a question it was, does not in any way change how stupid a question it was in the first place.

Legal, controlled migration is one thing.

As far as I know, you apply from your host country and fund it yourself. you are either denied or accepted residence by the host country. You enter, your host country through a legal port with your documents.

Asylum seeking and mass uncontrolled migration is something else. You just turn up with your story. Maybe with no documents. Usually, they require housing and benefits, such as legal support.

I think you catch my drift.

Organizations like KISA don’t care for the difference.

Mass uncontrolled migration - so what, they would probably say and expect the tax payer to shoulder the burden.

A genuine asylum seeker, someone who is leterally fleeing their home country in fear of their life and who if they were returned there would be at serious risk of illegal persecution and death, can not first apply to migrate somewhere else and wait on that decision before fleeing. The very idea is nonsense. So when someone turns up in a country, at a legal port of entry or via any other way and claims to be a genuine asylum seeker, those claims have to investigate and a judgement made all whilst that person is in the new country. How could it work otherwise ?

You could turn up in a foreign country enter it legally via say a 90 day tourist visa and then during that time apply for a different status, so legally doing so whilst not first 'waiting in your original country'.

I think someone here is confusing the different classes of migrants here and I do not think it is KISA.

I agree,

An asylum seeker can turn up on a tourist visa and apply for a different status. Not all come through on an inflatable boat, for instance.

I speculate here, that he probably sees things through a racist filter and this is what motivated him to intervene above all else. Any crimes that the foreign boy may have committed are a distant after thought in his mind and are not important.

Who is arguing that the KISA guy should get to decide who gets arrested or not ? No one that I can see ? You want 'speculation' ? I can speculate that the Police were themselves doing something illegal in some way, seeking to illegally infringe this boy's rights, knowing that they could do with impunity because it was a migrant boy, and the KISA sought to stop this and in response a whole 'story' has been spun that is just not true.

I was not implying that you were arguing that the KISA guy gets to decide.
