We can all play the 'propaganda' game. Personally I do try not to do so 'pro actively' but I do reserve the right to do so 're actively' on occasion and under 'provocation'. I try not to do so 'pro actively' because I just see no way at all how doing so in any way helps Cypriots, all of them, or any of them, find a way to a better place than they are now and have been through since 1960. I can see many ways how doing so (choosing to pro actively play the propaganda game) does help sustain and perpetuate the results of our historic failures as Cypriots.

Cypriots can’t be Greek or have enosis with Greece but other “Cypriots” can be Turkish and have enosis with turkey.

It could be true that you do not but it is also within the realms of possibility that actually you do without even realising it

The most effective propaganda does use 'facts' or truth but does so partially. It is partial use of facts or truth that makes such propaganda more effective than propaganda that just uses lies. It is true that the state of GO cemeteries in the north is appalling, some more than others. It is also true that there are muslim cemeteries in the south that are also in an appalling state and some that effectively have been 'wiped off the face of the earth' entirely. My counter example of bank robber picture is also true or based on facts. In 1964, 10 years before the problem 'started' as some narratives would have it, illegal, irregular armed militia's did walk in to Barclay's bank in the middle of the day in front of countless witnesses and take my uncle working there at gun point and murder him and dump his body in a well. This is all true. It is the presentation of this as the only truth or the only relevant truth that makes my post, imo, propaganda.

A polygraph machine adapted for Turkish culture is currently under development at Istanbul’s Üskudar University.

“That which can be considered a ‘lie’ by regular polygraphs used in the West may not be considered a lie by Turkish people. Cultural differences must be taken into account in the detection of what is a lie and what is not,” Professor Nevzat Tarhan, in charge of the project, told the Hürriyet Daily News.
