Yes of course a part of me wants to go. I wouldn't have applied if that was not the case. I was actually just testing the market.

I literally made 2 applications which led to immediate emails from the recruiting, testing, interview and even fingerprinting for their Department of Homeland Security.

The only thing that worries me is the beach.

But in any case, a lot of travel for me and also the family. the world becomes your Oyster I guess.

The wife really wants to go to New York which is one of the domiciles being offered. I would do that for her, but I have been so use to the beach most of my life. The big buildings and shopping are no replacement for me when it comes down to the beach. On the positive side, you can decide to go to Europe or Australia provided they give you leave which sounds like you would be lucky to get at the best of times...

I guess I can always go to the Caribbean for my fix...

It's a big move. I am not 100% convinced about it and the truth is I am a little scared of it too.

Indeed, if I was single I would just go. It's an adventure. But I am not single. Kids are involved too. They will need to go to American Schools. I don't want them to get knifed or shot. I know the chances are so low.

My friend says I have nothing to worry about. America is a huge country and to put things into perspective he told me that Europe almost has as many shootings as the US when you add all the countries up but you will always hear about America because of the NRA. He probably has a point there too. Haven't looked at the statistics with any care.

He told me that the circles I will be mixing with will place the children into schools of good repute that are middle class at least and perhaps better so it shouldn't even be a factor. I would be similar or on par to Australia.
